"Council please approach the bench." The judge announces as Stevie and Lindsey share a look before the slowly make their way up to her.

"What do you think?" Lindsey whispers when they meet.

"I don't know." She sighs getting to the bench, "Your honor, the people would like to call a recess so I can interview this woman."

"If justice is what we're looking for, this is an eye witness. Why don't we just put her on the stand and hear her story." Lindsey shrugs.

"Mrs. Buckingham?"

"Just so I understand, you want to waive any defense right to a continuance and just put this woman on the stand?" Stevie asks.

"Yeah." He shrugs.

"Why not." Stevie smiles.

"I'll give you a few minutes to prepare." The judge nods.

"Thank you, your honor." Stevie smiles as they walk away.

Both parties turn to converse for a minute and then the judge looks to the lawyers.

"Mr. Buckingham. Mrs. Buckingham, may we proceed?"

"Yes, your honor." "Yes your honor"

"Balif, would you please bring this witness in." The judge states.

"Uh, your honor she's disappeared." The bailiff comes back into the courtroom.

Stevie and Lindsey look back and then look at each other with their mouths wide.

Later that day, Stevie is slightly nauseous, but she's walking around the witness that disappeared's, apartment.

"Steph?" Lindsey calls making her jump and slam the drawer she was looking in.

"Oh, Linds. You scared me half to death. What are you doing here?" She questions.

"Same thing as you I guess...looking for evidence." He's breathing heavily.

"I just need a minute. The court order sealed that elevator so I had to walk up five or six floors and just going up and down the stairs in our house winds me." He sits on the bed.

"Seven actually," Stevie states leaning against the footboard.

"Ugh...what do you suppose an apartment like this costs?" Lindsey groans his breath finally coming back to him.

"A lot...huh, honey your jacket." Stevie's eyes go wide looking at her husband's right bicep.

"oooh, paint...on my favorite suit jacket." Lindsey whines as the phone rings.

"Stephanie Buckingham, Assistant District Attorney." She answers.

"Mrs. Buckingham it's Detective Scott with the police. we found a cab driver that picked the witness up."

"Where?" Stevie gasps looking at Lindsey.

"Down the street from the courthouse. He took her to the bus station."

"When?" She questions.

"About a half-hour ago."

"Alright, thank you." Stevie smiles hanging up.

"Anything?" Lindsey questions looking through the closet.

"Oh, the police may or may not have found a cab driver that picked her up," Stevie explains.

"Where'd he take her?"

"The bus station."

"That's not our witness then." He shakes his head.
