"Well, you're home awful late," Stevie says from her perch at the dining room table. She and Lily were eating Cheese ravioli for dinner.
"I swear that kid is going to give me a heart attack," Lindsey grumbles plopping down in his seat and piling the cheesy pasta onto his plate and filling his bowl with salad.
"What happened Daddy?" Lily asks.
"After he ran out of court today-your mother can tell you about that-he went over to Valerie's house and he threatened her and stole her car and now the police are after him. I think he's going to be my last case." Lindsey sighs.
"You want to retire?" Stevie asks.
"Not really but I can't keep doing that." Lindsey shakes his head.
"I think you should, you've been doing Law since you were in your twenties. It's been almost 40 years. Both of you should consider it." Lily shrugs sipping on her iced tea.
"I am," Lindsey states sipping his own drink.
"Well I'm not, I'm still of sound mind and I'm still physically able and my jobs not as demanding as your father's so I've got at least fifteen more years left in me." Stevie states.

The next morning, both parents were getting ready for work and Lily was downstairs making her normal strawberry smoothie and oatmeal for breakfast. The blender was going and she didn't hear the backdoor open. She was pouring her smoothie in a glass when she noticed.
"Who are you?" He asks.
"Who am I, who are you? Where did you come from?" Lily asks backed up into the sink.
"I'm a client of Lindsey's. Where is he?"
"You're the...oh my god." He was getting closer to her.
She let out an ear-piercing scream which alerted both of her parents upstairs. "DADDY!" She yells as her parents are halfway down the stairs.
Lindsey practically jumps over the banister and runs into the kitchen.
"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING!" Lindsey asks pulling him away from his daughter who immediately runs into her mother's arms.
"You're my..." He starts.
"Don't give me that client-lawyer relationship shit, I'm off the case. Give me the keys." Lindsey states seeing them in his hand.
"You can't Mark Timmons is the killer. I saw him yesterday. I'm going back today." He argues.
"No. GIVE ME THE KEYS TO THE CAR!"
"I have to find out who killed him."
"NO! GIVE ME THE KEYS...YOU'VE MADE ME LOOK LIKE THE WORST KIND OF STUPID LAWYER WHO CAN'T EVEN CONTROL HIS CLIENT. YOUR SPOILED, YOUR ARROGANT, AND YOU'RE STUPID. I'VE RAISED FOUR KIDS AND YOU ARE WORSE THAN ALL OF THEM COMBINED WHEN THEY WERE IN THAT TERRIBLE TWO PHASE. YES, I DID JUST COMPARE YOU TO A TODDLER. NOW GIVE ME THE GODDAMN KEYS!"
"Lindsey just let me explain." Drew starts.
"NO, SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP."
"I'm sorry Lindsey." He sighs.
"You broke into my house, scared my daughter half to death, and now you're interrupting my morning routine so what do you have to say for yourself." Lindsey sighs.
"Lily, this is little Lily, wow you grew up...I, I really don't know." He shakes his head.
"Alright look, this is probably something you don't want me to hear so why don't you guys go into the living room and I'll make pancakes. Lily go to school." Stevie instructs grabbing at the ingredients from inside the cupboards.
