Stevie was woken up the next morning to the sound of roosters growing. When she looks around a sinking feeling comes over her and she sees the ropes they're bound with. Against her better judgment, as she was extremely ill-feeling, she assumes from the baby, but it could also very well be her instincts, she starts flailing around to try and break free from her restraints. She gets the gag out of her mouth and when she feels like she's going to throw up she takes deep breaths and stops.
"Lindsey...Lindsey...LINDSEY."
"Hm."
"I can't believe we were drugged."
He mumbles something in response and she just shakes her head.
"I can't understand what you're saying...look Lindsey just try and reach my ropes. Who were those men, how did they know our name, and how did they know we were looking for Ashley. Do you think they're looking for her too?"
She's met with more mumbling.
"This doesn't make any sense. Why would they tie us up, why wouldn't they just shoot us? I would have. Wouldn't you." Stevie asks.
"No." She can understand that word out of Lindsey's mouth.
"I can't believe this is happening to us. FIrst that long drive, and then that awful man in the diner, and then the cap," She complains still fighting against the ropes.
Her stomach growls, and she groans. "I'm sorry. I'm just, hungry and I don't feel good. We should've eaten in that diner. Aren't you hungry."
She can feel him nod his head against hers.
"Why didn't you say anything."
More mumbling.
"Well, you should've said something." She's getting angry, her hormones are coming into play.
"Did you know they had waffles. And pancakes. Waffles with syrup. pancakes with apples on them, Biscuits. Potato pie." As she's listing her hand finally gets free and she gasps clutching her wrist to her chest.
Then like a wave it hits her. Before she can untie Lindsey, she goes to one of the buckets in the barn and throws up in it. As she's making her way over to Lindsey, a man holding a rifle breaks in.
"Put your hands up." He demands.
"Ugh, Lindsey...this is Lindsey Buckingham from Los Angeles, he's a lawyer," Stevie explains.
"This is my barn and you're trespassing." He scowls.
"Oh, are you Dan?" Stevie gasps.
"How do you know my name?" He questions.
"A lady from town said you were a good friend of Ashley's." Stevie puts her hands down and starts working on the ropes around Lindsey.
"Ashley moved to LA a couple of years ago." He states.
"Yes, yes...that's why we're here," Stevie explains.
"I TOLD YOU TO PUT YOUR HANDS UP!"
"I'm Stephanie Buckingham and I'm a lawyer too. I'm actually with the Los Angeles DA's office. Now I know you're just trying to protect Ashley but she's in terrible trouble. She witnessed a murder and she can identify the killers but there are some very dangerous men looking for her."
"You aren't going to hurt her." He shakes his head.
"We won't they will." The gag is finally out of Lindsey's mouth.
"I've got her safe." He replies.
"You can't hide her forever dear. We just want to help her." Stevie shakes her head, rubbing at Lindsey's shoulders as Lindsey is finally free.
