TVD: S1E18 - Under Control

Alexis' POV

Elena and I are prepared to go to school. Today Jeremy is going with us. I'm all healed from being kidnapped. But Elena is worried about Stefan. "Come on Jeremy, going to school!" I shout.

"Going out the door!" Elena adds.

"You forgot these" Aunt Jenna says giving Elena and I thermos each. We thank her and Elena opens the door. But we freeze when we see Uncle John outside.

"Elena, Alexis" he says smiling.

"Uncle John" Elena says evenly.

"Hi" I say.

"John, you made it" Jenna says.

"I said I'll be here before noon" he tells her entering the house.

"Oh what you say and what you do are typically two very different things" Jenna tells him. Suddenly Jeremy finally comes downstairs. Jeremy greets him before leaving.

"How long are you in town?" I ask praying not long.

"I don't know yet" he answers.

"Well we gotta get to school, see you later" Elena says dragging me outside. We go to my car and I drive us to school. We meet up with Matt and tell him about Uncle John's visit.

"Uncle John, I never really liked that guy" Matt tells us.

"Does anyone?" we ask him.

"I'm here for moral support if you both need me" he tells us.

"Thanks, I think we'll suffer this one alone; you've been through enough" I tell him.

"Thank you by the way, for just...for everything you did at Vicki's funeral and the memorial. I couldn't have done it without you" he tells Elena.

"Of course Matt" she says smiling.

"So, was Caroline still baking for you guys, around the clock?" I ask him.

"She finally went to her dad, which is a good thing because my mom was going to strangle her if she dropped off one more lasagna" he tells us. I chuckle and he shuts his locker door. Elena and I then stay back after history as Alaric wanted to speak to us.

"Hi Alaric, thank you for helping rescue me" I tell him.

"It was my pleasure" he tells me. "I made a copy of a paper Jeremy wrote for me. I think you should take a look at it" he tells us. Handing Elena the report and I look over her shoulder. The title of the report is: 'Fact or Fiction: The Truth About Vampires in Mystic Falls'.

"Jeremy wrote this?" Elena asks him.

"He's very clear that he didn't think it was real" he assure us.

"I really hope you're right because I've done so much to protect him from all of this" Elena says handing the paper back.

"So, how do you deal with it?" he asks us.

"What do you mean?" we ask him confused.

"With all the lies and the secrets. You have to lie to everyone who's important to you" he explains.

"It's not safe for them to know the truth" I tell him.

"So we keep it from, because we love them" Elena adds.

"I think Stefan is a good guy. But at the end of the day he's still a vampire" he tells her.

"I know it's hard to understand but Stefan is different" she tells him.

"She's right, he'd never hurt Elena" I add smiling. Elena and I go home, where she goes to her room. I go to the kitchen to see Jeremy, Jenna and John.
