"Casey, wake up! It's your first day at your new school." My sister, Allison, tried to wake me up, but I refused to budge. "Come on, Casey! Don't make me get Mom."
When I heard her say that I shot up from my bed instantly.
"I'm up! I'm up!" I said, and she laughed at me.
"Good. Now get dressed and come downstairs for breakfast before Dad eats all of the bacon." She told me with a smile.
I got up out of bed and went towards my closet, finding an outfit for the day. I decided to wear a white long sleeved shirt that showed my bellybutton a bit, dark ripped jeans, and a pair of black converse. I put in a pair of studs and then put on my necklace and my charm bracelet.
My necklace was of a sapphire blue teardrop with a single diamond above it. I've had ever since I was a baby. My bracelet though was given to me as a birthday gift last from Allison. The charms it had was a book, a bow & arrow, a wolf, a lacrosse stick, a blue gem, a green gem, a red gem, a diamond, and then it had my initials. My necklace and my bracelet are my most prized possessions and I'd die if I ever lost them.
"Casey!" I heard Allison call from downstairs.
"Coming!" I yelled back. I quickly brushed through my dirty blonde hair and quickly spritzed on some of my favorite rose and vanilla perfume.
I grabbed my backpack and my phone before running down the stairs.
"Took you long enough." Allison said when I came into the kitchen, handing me a plate full of pancakes and bacon.
"Thanks, Alli." I said, sitting down and drowning my pancakes in syrup before digging in.
"Casey, slow down. You'll choke." My mom warned me when she saw me gorging on my food.
"Oh, leave her alone, Vic. Good morning, squirt." My dad smiled at me, ruffling my hair.
"Dad!" I groaned, swatting his hands away, trying to fix my now messy hair.
"I've gotta go. I'll see you later, Mom, Dad." Allison said. "You too, flower. Love you!"
"Love you, too!" I yelled right as she was walking out the door.
"You excited for you first day of school?" Dad asked me, sitting next to me and my mom stood beside him.
"I'm kind of nervous. I mean, we always move and never stay in one place. I just don't want to make friends and then next thing I know we have to move again." I told them.
"You know why we have to move around a lot, Casey. But I promise you that this will be our last stop, okay, kiddo?" I nodded in reply. "Good. Now come on, you're going to be late."
I got up from my chair and put my plate in the sink before grabbing my bag.
"Bye, Mom. Love you." I hugged her goodbye and she kissed my forehead.
"Love you, too, sweetheart. Have a good day at school." She said, and I let go so I could get out of the house and go to the car where my dad was waiting for me.
-
"This is it, squirt." My dad said when he stopped the car. I looked over to see Beacon Hills Middle School. "Good luck on your first day."
"Thanks, Dad. Love you." I said, getting out of the car.
"I love you too, squirt. Allison will be picking you up, okay?" He told me and I nodded. He soon took off and I saw a ton of kids hanging out with their friend groups. I clutched onto my bag and began to walk. In the corner of my eye I could see people look my way, whispering about.
