Matt made us go towards the holding cells, and that's when I saw Sheriff Stilinski handcuffed to a pole, sitting on a bench.
Scott placed me down next to him, but I got up, leaning on the wall for support.
"Please, they need to see a doctor." Ms. McCall said as Matt locked her in the holding cell.
"You think so?" Matt asked quietly.
"Hey, hey, you listen to me!" Sheriff Stilinski yelled angrily, having enough of Matt's antics.
"It's all right, I'm okay." Scott promised him, but neither of them knew what he was. Or what I was.
"He's right. We're fine, I promise." I said, and Sheriff Stilinski looked at me with fury in his eyes, but it wasn't towards me.
"No, honey, you're not okay." Ms. McCall said, looking at the both of us.
"It's doesn't hurt, Mom." Scott told her and I gave him a look.
"'Cause that's the adrenaline, okay?" She said. She then looked at Matt. "Please, just let me take a look at them, okay? I mean, I can help stop the bleeding."
"They have no idea, do they?" Matt asked us, and Scott and I looked at each other.
"Please." Ms. McCall begged. "Let me just take a quick look-"
"Shut up, shut up, shut up!" Matt yelled at her. I felt tears in my eyes because of how much Scott's mother cared for him. He's lucky that he still gets to have a mom. And now that she's gone that's all I want. I want her back.
"Lady, if you keep talking, I'm gonna put the next bullet through his head." He threatened, and she backed off for the sake of her son.
"Back to the front, McCall. You too, sweetheart." He tried to touch me but I turned away from him.
"Casey," I went into Scott's arms, and he helped me walk towards the front. Matt kept the gun to our backs, pushing us into Sheriff Stilinski's office.
I whimpered at the pain in my leg and hanging on to Scott for dear life.
"The evidence is gone." Scott said, turning to look at the sick bastard. "Why don't you just go?"
"You-You think the evidence mattered that much, huh?" He asked us.
What more could he want?
"No, no, I-I want the book." I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.
"What book?" I asked him.
"The bestiary." He said. "Not just a few pages, I want the entire thing."
"I don't have it." Scott said.
"It belongs to my grandpa. Why do you want it?" I asked him.
"I need answers." He grumbled.
"Answers to what?" Scott asked him.
"To this." Matt pulled up his shirt and all of us were shocked when we saw his side covered with scales that looked identical to Jackson's.
"Oh, hell no." I heard Jocelyn mumble.
Oh, hell no was right.

"If you think my family will believe that you're me then you're funny." I said to Matt after he used my phone to text my sister to tell her my whereabouts and what he wants exactly.
"I don't care. I just want the book." He stated.
I snickered, "They will never give you that book. It's been in my family for centuries. Besides, it's all in Archaic Latin, so you can't even read it."
