"Hey, I'm gonna go head to the bathroom really quick." I told Mason. He nodded and I got up, making sure that my phone was with me.
I walked out of the cafeteria and quickly made my way to the bathroom, entering one of the stalls and locking it behind me. I then called Scott.
"Hello?"
"Oh, hallelujah. You're alive. I heard what happened, who got shot?" I asked him, getting right to the point.
"Shot? What do you mean?" He asked me, confused.
"Scott, my Aunt Kate told me that she shot one of you last night. You sound fine, so who in the hell were you with last night?" I asked him again.
"Derek. We were chasing after the alpha and that's when your aunt showed up." He told me.
"So if it wasn't you then it's either Derek or the alpha. Look, whoever it was, they're not going to make it through the night. You better hope that it was the alpha who got hit, Scott." I told him.
"I know. All right, I have to go." He said.
"Ok-" I stopped in the middle of my sentence when I felt something. Something weird. Something unnatural. I know I've felt this feeling before.
"Casey? You there?" Scott's voice brought me out of my thoughts.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I have to go, bye." I hung up the phone and put it in my jeans pocket, taking my ring dagger out from it's hiding place, quietly unlocking the stall door before looking out to see that no one was there. I shrugged it off until I felt that feeling again. It was weak, but I felt it coming up behind me, so I quickly whipped around, grabbing them and pinning them against the wall with my dagger up to their throat.
I then took notice that it was a girl around my age. I've seen her in most of my classes, but I don't know her name. She had jet black hair with amber colored eyes. She seems quiet usually but she's got some type of fire in her. And she's what I've been feeling.
"Who are you?" I demanded.
"Jocelyn Rose. We have class together." She answered. "Look, I know that you're a hunter and all, but can you seriously take the dagger away from my throat or bad things might happen."
"Mmm. Depends. Why the hell were you spying on me?" I asked her.
She then smirked and her eyes started to glow a fiery orange, almost looking like there was an actual fire raging within her irises.
"I warned you." She said and that's when she blasted me with a wave of fire, making me hit the bathroom wall. "Look who's got the upper hand now?"
I chuckled at her, smirking myself. "Still me." I got up to look at her, and she was shocked when she saw my eyes glowing a bright silver. I waved my hand and in an instant, she was thrown up against the wall with a gust of wind, grunting from the harsh impact.
"That's impossible. How?" She questioned, still looking shocked. "You're a hunter, that's impossible."
"What's impossible?" I asked her.
"For you to be like me." She stated. I saw her look down at my neck and her eyes widened. "You have the Mercier pendant. How? Where did you get it? You shouldn't have that!"
"What are you talking about? My parents gave me this necklace when I was a baby. It's not the Mercier pendent, or whatever you call it." I said.
"Okay, can you please let me down? I'm not going to attack you as long you put that away." She motioned towards my dagger.
