"Hey, guys!" I said to the boys, and their heads whipped around to look at me.

"Casey? What are you doing here?" Scott asked me, wondering why I wasn't at school.

"Oh, some kids tried to pull some kind of prank and somehow set fire to the school. And since my grandfather is now your principal, he thought it'd be a great idea if I come here and observe like I did last time." I explained to them, taking the seat next to Stiles.

"Why so quiet?" I asked them, wondering why they weren't saying anything.

"Hey, princess." I froze when I heard his voice and I look in front of me just to see Isaac turned in his desk, smirking at me. "You know, you still owe me that explanation."

"Stay away from her." Scott said protectively, and Isaac just chuckled, turning back around in his seat.

"Scott, chill. He won't hurt me." I said calmly, and he looked at me like I was insane.

"He tried doing that the other day!" He said, bringing up what happened at the rink.

"Just trust me. Please." They looked at me before nodding reluctantly.

I walked into Scott and Stiles's next class, taking the seat behind Stiles. The only reason I'm with them is because they're telling me all about the kanima.

"Hey, testicle left and right." I snorted at Jackson's nickname for them. "What the hell is a kanima?"

The three of us immediately turned to him, opening our mouths to say something until Coach came in.

"All right, listen up. A quick warning before we begin our review. Some of you, like McCall, might want to start their own study groups, because tomorrow's midterm is so profoundly difficult... I'm not even too sure I could pass it." He said, chuckling a bit.

"Also, we have someone observing our class today. Apparently she is smarter than all of you, so don't corrupt her!" Coach warned them, and that's when they all looked at me. "Anyway, I need a volunteer at the board to answer the first question. Who's got it, huh?"

"Paralyzed from the neck down." I heard Jackson say, and I turn to look at him. "Do you have any idea what that feels like?" He asked.

"I'm familiar with the sensation." Stiles piped up.

"Wait... Why would Derek test you?" Scott asked him, not understanding the reason behind it. "Why would he think that it's you?"

"How should I know?" Jackson said, annoyed by his question.

"Wait, do they think it's Lydia?" Stiles asked, and my eyes widened. She didn't turn during the full moon, so obviously she'd be one of the prime suspects.

"I don't know, all I heard was her name and something about chemistry."

"Jackson!" I jumped at the sound of Coach's voice, and I look at him with wide eyes.

"Do you have something you want to share with the rest of the class?" He asked him.

"Um... Just an undying admiration for my-my coach." I snickered at his response.

Was that really all he could come up with?

"That's really kind of you." He smiled at him sarcastically. "Now shut up! Shut it! Anybody else?" He asked, walking away from us.

Scott then pulled Stiles towards him and asked, "How do we know it's not her?"

"Because I looked into the eyes of that thing, okay? And what I saw was pure evil. And when I look into Lydia's eyes, I only see fifty percent evil. All right, maybe sixty." He said, changing his mind. "You know, but no more than forty on a good day."
