I woke up this morning feeling okay until I tried to get up. I winced, looking down to see my stomach wrapped up, and last nights occurrences flooded in my mind like a tsunami.

"Damn it." I mumbled, carefully getting up out of bed. I looked at my calendar and saw that it was Allison's birthday, so I grabbed my camera and my gift for her that I prepared the night before.

"Happy birthday, Allicat!" I said, catching her on her way out of her room.

"Casey! You should be in bed resting." She told me.

"I know, but I'm fine. So come here, take a picture with me before I give you your gift." I waved her over and she smiled at me. I raised my camera as we smiled for the picture, snapping it, but we took a few more, acting like complete idiots.

"Okay, that's enough for today. But here is your gift." I gave her the gift, and she took me it from me. She reached in the bag to find a small black felt box and gasped when she opened it.

"It's beautiful! I love it!" She smiled at me, taking me in her arms, being careful not to hurt me. I gave her a silver heart ring to represent our bond. It's simple, yet unbreakable. Like us.

"Thank you so much!"

"You're welcome. I also got one for me, too." I said, showing her the ring on my right middle finger. "It's to represent our sisterly bond. Even though the rings look so simple, they're unbreakable. Like the two of us. Plus, check out the engraving on the inside." I pointed to the ring.

She took it out and laughed. "Allicat. Let me guess, yours says flower?" I nodded. "It's the best gift ever, baby sister."

"Casey, shouldn't you be resting?" Aunt Kate asked me, coming out of Allison's room with her arms crossed.

"I'm fine, Auntie Kate. I'm not dying." I said to her.

"But you could have." She said and I shrugged.

"But I didn't. I'm gonna go eat some food." I said, walking downstairs with Allison as she left for school and I went into the kitchen.

"Casey! What are you doing up?" My mom asked me once I walked in, putting down her cup of coffee.

"I got hungry. You can't make me stay in bed all day, Mom. I'll go crazy." I said to her, pouring a glass of water for myself.

"Fine. Also, on another note, do not use your abilities to heal. With your aunt here it will make her suspicious about you being hurt one minute and then completely fine the next." Mom told me.

"Okay. I won't." I said to her, making myself a bowl of cereal as she handed me some aspirin to take for the pain. "Thanks." I took the aspirin and placed it in my mouth, bringing my water up to my lips to help me swallow them. I took a seat at the counter and began to eat my food.

"So tonight your father and I are going to the high school for parent/teacher night, and your Aunt Kate is going out, so are you going to be all right on your own?" Mom asked me, drinking her coffee.

"Yeah, I think I'll be fine." I said, bringing a spoonful of cheerios up to my mouth. "Don't worry, I won't do anything too strenuous. I'll probably edit some photos, binge-watch Star Wars, or maybe even read my Harry Potter books."

"Well, I am going to clean up around the house, so after you're done I want you to get back into bed." She instructed me, leaving the kitchen with her cup of coffee in hand.

I was editing some photos on my laptop and listening to some music when I heard a knock on my door.
