Three Small Snails
Three small snails
crawl down the street,
for twenty yards,
so they can meet.
Three small snails
rush through the grass,
building speed
to meet at last.
One small snail
decides to wait,
since his two friends
are three days late.
Two small snails,
one snail says "No!"
Ten yards down,
ten yards to go.
The last small snail
decides to sleep,
the last five yards
are far too steep.
Three small snails
give up at last
and go their own ways
through the grass.
