A Thousand Times

Awake! Clandestine one

Celestial and benign

Hold not back the beauty of

these auspices I find!

For in the chamber of each verse

where light gave birth to form

A whisper brave and unrehearsed

brought life to this churning storm

Behold the candle on its staff

and the wine within the chalice

Imbibe the hour and be sure to laugh

without pain nor malice

Ebb slow and wax well

in your ethereal luminescence

for the barbs of your stars

have grabbed this heart

and are now it's very essence

Gently a solar wind

within the underpinning of my mind

like a flare it begins

and warms a universe inside

The inky void and parchment dream

Without you, they don't mean a thing

My dearest of all inspiration

In veneration do I sing!

and so the world despises

a love quite strong and true

Yet with our own disguises

They'll never quite see through

My heart has engaged you

for a thousand times

in rhymes and still it finds

there is no end in sight

to this poetic paradise
