Chapter 46: You're Here Too?

(Y/n) watched as All Might swooped into the room and pick up a man, giving him a bone-crushing hug. She and Izuku stood in the doorway, watching the scene unfold.

"I am here! Shaking with emotion from out reunion!"

"Toshi?!" the brown-haired man exclaimed.

All Might set the man down and he fell to the ground.

"I came all this way just to see you Dave!" he exclaimed. Dave- the guy on the ground- looked frazzled and shocked.

"Well? Were you surprised?" Melissa asked from over the pro's shoulder. He grinned.

"Y-yeah... very surprised."

All Might helped him to his feet. (Y/n) and Izuku watched nervously, not knowing if they should introduce themselves or not. As All Might moved out of the way, (Y/n) gasped as she realized who the man was.

"Young Midoriya, young (Y/n)! Let me introduce you to one of my dearest friends, David Shiel-"

"The David Shield?" (Y/n) squawked. "As in David Shield, winner of the Nobel Quirk Prize and top scientist in quirk research?"

"He was All Might's partner when he lived in America!" Izuku added, equally as excited. "And for All Might's costumes, Young Age, Bronze Age, Silver Age, and Golden Age, he was the genius inventor who created all of those!"

"I never expected to meet you so soon! I mean I knew my work might allow me to cross paths with him when I was maybe a pro in the future, but..." (Y/n)'s eyes sparkled. "I didn't expect it to be so soon!"

Melissa giggled and (Y/n) blushed from embarrassment.

"I guess there's no need to introduce myself." Dave chuckled.

"We're sorry!" Izuku and (Y/n) cried unanimously and bowed.

"No, it's fine." he waved a hand dismissively. All Might coughed quietly, putting a hand to his mouth.

"It's been a long time since I saw All Might. Would you mind giving us a moment to talk alone?" Dave asked politely.

"Yes, of course!"

"Melissa, would you mind showing (Y/n) and Midoriya around I-Expo?"

"Sure! I'm honored to be able to go with two future heroes!" she replied. (Y/n) and Izuku followed her out, twittering excitedly about all the cool tech they hoped to see.

"What should I call you? Midoriya? Izuku?" Melissa asked. Izuku thought for a moment, then nodded.

"You can call me Deku."

"Okay! And what about you?" she turned to (Y/n).

"Oh, (Y/n) is fine. It's nice being called by my first name, since everyone in Japan calls me by my last name until I tell them to call me by my first name. It's a whole thing." (Y/n) waved her arm in the air.

"You may call me Melissa."

They made it down to the pavilion and admired the attractions spread throughout the fair.

"Looking at this place, it's hard to believe it's a man-made island." Izuku commented.

"We have all the facilities of a large city. Just about all we can't do is travel." Melissa explained.

"Why's that?"

"The scientists and their families have a duty to confidentiality to keep information from leaking out." she sighed.
