Chapter 21: Halloween Special!

"You've got all of that, right (Y/n)?" Aizawa asked her. She nodded distractedly, tapping her pencil on her notepad. Her gaze drifted in and out as she stared listlessly at the doodles in her notebook.

"M-hm."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I'll just add it to my list."

Her eyes were glassed over, not even registering what the man had told her.

"Whatever, you'll learn your lesson later." he sighed, leaving the nurse's office. (Y/n) shook herself out of her stupor and gathered her files, shuffling them together into a neat stack. Scanning the pages, she bit her lip in concentration.

A knock on the nurse's door caught her attention. Abandoning the piles of work stacked on her desk, she answered the door.

"Hey (Y/n)!"

Class 1-A greeted her with smiles.

"Hey guys!" she grinned back, widening the door and stepping out into the hall, not wanting to block anyone who needed to enter the office.

"We all came over to ask you something-" Uraraka began.

"Will you do the Halloween Scavenger Hunt with us?" Mina interrupted, her eyes glittering excitedly. She loomed over (Y/n), her hands clenched in fists in excitement.

"You want me to participate in the scavenger hunt?" (Y/n) blinked in surprise.

"Totally! It would be great to have our favorite nurse around while we're having fun!" Kirishima grinned. His classmates gave him a side-eyed glare, knowing he wasn't throwing out those compliments for nothing. Denki sent a jolt of electricity up his arm and he jumped.

"At 7:00 we'll all meet up at the front of the school to participate, ribbit," Tsu explained. "We all have one hour to find everything on the list."

"We'd all really like it if you came!" Denki exclaimed.

"We can go trick-or-treating afterwards!" Sero added.

"Oh cool! Totally, I can make it with you guys!" (Y/n) exclaimed. She laid a finger on her pouting lip.

"Although... I've never really been trick-or-treating..."

"What?!" the class exclaimed at once. The nurse jumped back, her hands thrown up in s defensive position.

"How's that possible?" Denki exclaimed. "It's like the best thing ever! You dress up and people give you candy! Free candy!"

"I know, I know," (Y/n) admitted, embarrassment showing as heat crawled up her neck. "It's just my dad has been kinda over protective about the whole trick or treat thing after what happened... He'd let me go to a few houses down the street and get candy, but we'd just hit a few houses then go back home to watch a scary movie. That's it."

"You poor soul..." Jirou joked. Uraraka elbowed her good-naturedly.

"Alright, that settles it!" Iida exclaimed. He rested a stiff hand on (Y/n)'s shoulder, staring into her doe-like (e/c) eyes.

"(Y/n), we will make sure you have the best Halloween ever tonight!"

"Yeah!" the class shouted, pumping their fists into the air to emphasize their point.

"Aww, you guys are so sweet!" (Y/n) beamed, her smile blinding the people around her. "I don't have a costume though..."

"Not to worry mon amie," Aoyama announced, handing two or three bags filled with costumes. "We picked some up on the way!"
