The summer had come and gone than before I knew it I had graduated high school. Jonah and I had been together for over a year and I couldn't have been happier. It was the summer before my first year of college Jonah said he had something important to tell me and that it couldn't wait so I had dropped everything to see him at the park. By the time I got there, I saw that his car was there and that he was waiting for me by the duck pond. I jog over to him and stop to stand next to him "what's up?" I ask him urgently butterflies fluttering in my stomach "I'm moving" he says plainly looking out at the pond instead of me. I gasp in shock and shake my head "you can't move now! I can't just drop everything, Jonah!" I say hurriedly "it's okay I'll figure something out I'll have to get my money back from the college or something but we can-" he cuts me off sharply turning to me "you're not coming with me," he says
I frown "Jonah I love you" I remind him "I'd do anything for you even sacrifice my college education to follow you," I tell him he shakes his head "there's no point I'm moving to LA in a week to start a singing career," he tells me I gaps yet again "and you're only telling me this now! Jonah, I could have planned this out" I tell him angrily "Penny it was a quick decision I was asked to join a band so I did" he shrugs as if it were nothing. I take a deep breath to calm myself down "okay so you're moving to LA to join a band?" I ask he nods "and I can't come with you?" I ask he nods again "then what can I do Jonah!" I yell tears welling in my eyes "Jonah I love you doesn't that mean something? Doesn't that mean I should follow you to the ends of the earth? Doesn't that mean I should go with you?" I ask him angrily he sighs "I don't know what it means Penny. What I do know is that you should stay here and follow your dreams, not me" he tells me "but I love you Jonah" I tell him
He nods "and I love you but that doesn't mean you should give up on your dreams just so I can fulfill mine" he explains I frown "then what do we do?" I ask he frowns "I don't know," he says hanging his head. I finally let the tears fall down my face. I rush into his arms and cover my face in his chest "I can't loss you Jonah" I sob he rubs my back slowly "you're not going to lose me" he whispers in my ear "I need you Jonah" I tell him he kisses the top of my head "I need you to Penny" he whispers back "we'll get through this" he reassures me
