"Are you sure it's okay?" I asked Wendy again as I handed her the baby bag and placed Harlem's carrier on the dining table at my mothers house "I can always just take him if it's too much"

Wendy shook her head "don't be silly Evie, Abel's at preschool and I have Brooke here to help with the babies"

I sighed deeply running a hand through my hair "okay thanks, I just wanna get some of the house keeping done at scoops"

"How is everything?" She asked genuinely as she scooped Harlem out of his seat, he was now nearly five weeks old and though still tiny, he was starting to look less like a newborn.

"I have no idea, Happy doesn't say much lately and I barely see him" I shrugged my shoulders "I don't really know what to do with myself, I had envisioned the first month of my sons life a lot different"

"Has to end at some point" she tried to reason and I knew she was coming from a good place but I just couldn't really see the end of it right now.

"I pumped three bottles worth but if he runs out, call me and I'll come by and feed him"

She held Harlem up to her face pressing a kiss against his chubby cheek "he's going to be fine mama, go and have some you time"

I reached out and embraced my brothers ex wife in a warm hug "thank you so much"

I gave my son one last kiss before heading out to scoops, stopping along the way for an energy drink to keep me going for the day. The clubhouse was empty when I arrived, so I got to work sweeping and dusting upstairs before moving down stairs to do the same. I half expected Gemma to turn up but she never did, her behaviour since Tara's death sent alarm bells off in my head but I hadn't had time to really think on it.

Once all the cleaning was done I sat on one of the stools next to the bar to eat and enjoy the silence, but it didn't last long before the rumble of bikes could be heard up the main strip. Tig limped in first followed by a very tall, very beautiful trans woman who stopped to greet me with a southern drawl "Hi, you must be the beautiful Evelyn, you look very much like your mother"

I smiled up at her, her warmth and kindness radiated from her "Call me Evie" I shook her hand and turned to Tig "what the fuck happened to you?"

"Got shot, were going to go upstairs...I need some rest" he winced before leading her up the stairs, she gave me one last wave before she disappeared from sight.

The rest of the men filtered in and I gave them all a smile and a wave until Happy appeared. I felt the same old butterflies looking at him in his Kutte with his eyes dark and brooding, I don't think that feeling would ever go away. He stepped into me wrapping an arm around my waist before kissing my forehead "where's our son?"

"Wendy" I shrugged "what's going on?" I asked noting how irritated and stressed both Jax and Chibs looked.

Happy shook his head "later" he whispered before releasing me and I sat back on my stool to finish my lunch.

I zoned out from listening to the men chatter behind me, years of being trained to not listen to club business and a level of not caring coming into play. I stood and took my rubbish around the other side of the counter as the door opened again and the newest Lieutenant in Charming, Althea Jarry. I'd never met her before but I'd heard about her through the grape vine. She was very plain looking, her brown hair pulled tightly into a bun at the back of her head with minimal makeup.
