"Hello Mary. Come in. Vivian's in the kitchen."
"Hello Jordan. Good to see you. How's the new album coming along?"
"You too. It's coming. Slowly, but we're getting there."
Jordan walks Mary to the kitchen. Vivian is putting some garlic bread into the oven. She turns around when she hears their voices.
"Mary!"
"Oh Vivian, sweetie, it's so good to see you. I'm so glad you guys decided to come to California."
Mary and Vivian hug. "Dinner's almost ready. You want some wine?"
"It smells wonderful. That sounds good. Here's your mail. So Jordan when do you think you'll be done with your album?"
"Not much longer I hope." Jordan asks Vivian if he can look at the letters, she says yes. He takes the envelope to the table. He begins to open it. "Jordan, babe, those can wait until after dinner. Please put them in the office. And could you tell Donnie and Angie it's time to eat? Tell the kids to wash their hands and come down too please."
"Okay Viv."
"Thank you, love."
Jordan takes the envelope to the office. He wants to look through the letters so bad, but drops them onto his desk instead. He gets Donnie and Angie and the kids. And heads back down for dinner.
Dinner is delicious. Vivian makes great spaghetti. They all talk over dinner about Donnie and Angie's baby, Vivian's meeting in the morning, possible actors to play Vivian and Jordan's characters.
Mary looks at Vivian, "So Vivian who would you like to see as the main characters?"
Vivian thinks about it for a minute, "I don't know about the leading lady. But I'd like Orlando Bloom to play the male lead. He'd make a good "Jordan"."
Jordan smiles at Vivian, "So you've got a thing for Orlando Bloom do ya? I could see Kira Knightley playing the female lead. They did good together in Pirates."
Mary nods her head, "Yeah I could see those two playing the leads. Kira doesn't quite have the chest to play Vivian though." This gets a laugh from everyone at the table.
Donnie absentmindedly says, "Ain't that the truth." His comment gets him slapped on the arm by his wife, an embarrassed look from Vivian and an angry glare from Jordan. "Shit, sorry, I didn't mean it like that." Angie just keeps staring at him, so he says, "Kids are you done with your dinner?"
Angie says goodnight to everyone and picks up Hadley and heads upstairs. Donnie smiles and also says goodnight and apologizes for what he said. He takes Izzy by the hand and tells her to say goodnight. Izzy gives hug and kisses to her aunt and uncle and heads up to bed with her dad.
Mary leaves next, she tells Vivian to call her after her meeting. While Vivian walks Mary out, Jordan takes Lex and Layla up to get ready for bed as well.
With all the kids tucked in bed, Donnie comes back down and he and Jordan head to the office to look through the letters. Vivian goes to the office after Mary's gone. "Jordan, you're making something out of nothing. Quit letting those stupid letters bother you so much."
Jordan stands up and takes Vivian by the shoulders, "Sweetheart, it's my job as your husband to take care of you and to make sure you're safe. These letters bother me. So let me worry about them if I feel they are something to worry about, okay? I don't think you worry enough, so I have to do it for the both of us."
"Fine, worry away my love. I'm going to bed. Goodnight J. Goodnight Donnie. Don't stay down here too long. The bed is too big to sleep all alone in. And I was hoping to do more than just sleep in it tonight." She kisses Jordan with a tiny bit of tongue and walks towards the door. She turns at the door and winks at Jordan. He winks back.
Out of the twenty or so letters, ten of them were from the unknown person. Jordan's uneasiness over the letters grows. Jordan's seen how crazy fans can get. He never had any truly crazy fans, but he'd heard scary stories from some of his friends in the industry. Especially the females. Most stories began with letters and escalated. He'd even heard stories about stalkers and attempted attacks. He knew these letters could go beyond just letters. Vivian just didn't understand.
He and Donnie read the letters. The letters had become more agitated. Donnie says, "It's almost as if this person knows Vivian. This letters talks about her being young and beautiful. Not that she isn't young and beautiful now. But like as in younger. Could it be someone who knew her in high school?"
Jordan immediately thinks of Erik, Vivian's ex from high school. He remembers Erik lying to him on the phone when he'd called her from Boston. And he remembers how mad Erik was when he and Vivian had started dating. But last time they had seen Erik he was married to Vivian's best friend from Texas. So why would he be harassing Vivian now? He tells Donnie about Erik. Donnie thinks he's worth looking into.
They read through the letters and don't find anything threatening but Jordan and now Donnie are both concerned. And they honestly believe now it's someone who knows Vivian personally.
When Jordan finally crawls into bed with Vivian, she's sound asleep. He feels terrible for not coming to bed earlier. He pulls her close to him. She curls into him without waking up. He kisses her and his last thought before falling asleep, holding her in his arms is about how much he loves her. And how he'd do anything to keep her safe.
