When Jordan and Donnie got up to the fifth floor, Jordan spoke to the nurse at the nurses station, she told him that Vivian was still sleeping but that her vitals were good and strong. He was told her room number and that it was okay for him and Donnie to go in and see her.

When they got to her room, Jordan paused outside her closed door. He was terrified. He'd never felt so scared in his life. "Come on bro, this is all you've been praying for the last week. Now go in there and see Vivian." Donnie told Jordan.

Jordan pushed the door open and there she was, his beautiful wife. His heart began to beat faster, she was alive and more or less well. Her face was bruised and swollen. She had scrapes and bruises over most of her body that he could see. Her arm was in a large cast with weird metal pieces sticking out of the cast. Jordan sat next to her bedside and held her good hand. He was careful of her IV. He leaned close to her ear and spoke to her quietly. "Viv, baby, I'm here. I love you so much. Please wake up so I can see those beautiful eyes. I've been so scared this week, I thought I'd lost you. But now you're back with me. You're safe baby. I'll never let anything happen to you again. Please just wake up so I can tell you how much I love you." She didn't stir, she continued to lay there with her eyes closed.

Her doctor walked in as Jordan was leaning in to kiss her cheek ever so gently. Jordan turned to him. "Mr. Knight, I'm Dr. Davis, I've been treating your wife. She's technically okay, no major injuries, nothing life threatening. But she hasn't woken up yet. We're not sure why. We're hoping with you being here she'll wake up. Maybe it's a protective mechanism. We think when she feels safe she'll open her eyes."

"So she's going to be okay? Once she wakes up."

"Well we won't know if there are any other issues until she wakes up. We haven't seen any brain injuries in her scans. So we are fairly confident she'll make a full recovery."

"Dr. Davis, what's all that stuff coming out of her cast?"

"Well her hand was pretty damaged. Looked like it was slammed with something. In a door or with a large hammer. We aren't sure. We got it fixed up and those things sticking out of her cast will help the bones heal."

"Okay Doc, thank you. When can I take her home? Well not home, we live in Boston, but we also have a house in LA. Our kids are on the way to LA right now. I hate that they'll have to see their mom in the hospital. I hadn't even told them she was missing."

"Well Mr. Knight, once she wakes up and we can run a few tests on her, we can clear her to go home."

Just then Jordan's phone rings. It's his father in law. "Sorry I've got to take this call. Hey Vic, did you all make it to LA? How are the kids? Good. I'm here with her now. Yeah she's okay. She's still asleep, but once she wakes up they want to run some tests, then when she's cleared I can bring her home. Vic, I don't want the kids to see her like this. She looks so terrible. I'm not leaving Vic. I'm staying here until my wife wakes up. Okay Vic, I'll see if Donnie will drive back down and keep the kids while you come up here. Okay I'll call you back."

Jordan talked to Donnie about Vic wanting to come up to see Vivian. He asked him if he'd mind going back to LA to keep an eye on the kids. He didn't want them to see Vivian in the hospital if they didn't have to. Donnie said he'd head back to LA today, as long Jordan was okay with him leaving. Jordan said if he didn't Vic was going to bring the kids up with him. Donnie said he'd head back now. He went over to Vivian and kissed her forehead and said, "hey Viv, you need to wake up now, Lex and Layla need you. So does J, he's fucking miserable, you know how he gets, he's a mess without you. So please baby girl, wake up." He kissed her forehead again and squeezed her hand. To his great surprise she squeezed his hand back. It was a gentle squeeze but it was still a squeeze. He called Jordan over to her, Jordan began speaking to her. Her eyes fluttered and then finally she opened her eyes and looked up at Jordan.

"Hey J." Her voice was hoarse and quiet. But she was awake. "Hey baby, oh God I'm so happy to see you're awake. I've missed those beautiful eyes of yours. How are you feeling?"

"Thirsty." She winced as she tried to swallow. Donnie walked into the room with one of the nurses. She went over to Vivian and checked her out. She poured her a small glass of water with a straw and told her to just sip it. She told Jordan that she'd call the doctor to come by and check on Vivian.

"Hey sweetie, your dad flew into LA today with the kids. They're all at house now. Vic wants to come see you, but I didn't think it was a good idea for him to bring the kids with him. Now that you're awake what do you want him to do. Donnie said he'd drive back down and keep the kids so your dad can come up. Is that okay? Or do you want to see the kids?"

"Have they found Jason? Or is he still out there?"

"I haven't heard anything yet. I'll call detective Jones and see what he knows." Jordan left the room and made the call to the detective. "Good Afternoon Detective Jones, it's Jordan. Have you heard anything about Jason. Is he still out there? Vivian just woke up and she's pretty anxious to find out."

"Hey Mr. Knight, I meant to call you earlier. They found him not far outside of California. He was heading to Reno they think. He took the cops on a high speed chase there was a roadblock before Reno, that's where they got him. They officers there said he wasn't going down without a fight, he pulled out a gun. The officers opened fire and he was killed. From what the officers said, he thought he had killed Vivian. He kept telling them he wasn't going to go to prison for the rest of his life. They think he left her somewhere when he thought she was dead. But she's a fighter and made her way to the closest road where she was able to flag down a passing car. They called the ambulance."

Jordan couldn't help but smile at the thought of Jason being dead. It was the second best news he had gotten today.
