Orlando was waiting on her when she made it home. She found herself feeling relieved to see him there. Damn he's handsome. She felt like she was seeing him for the first time. It was such an odd feeling for her. She'd always just seen him as a good friend. But now she knew how he was in bed. She knew how he looked naked. And she knew without a doubt that he loved her.

She also didn't feel like she had to tiptoe around his feelings when it came to her own recovery. She didn't have to worry about him feeling guilty everytime she had a bad day and broke down. He's who she's talked to the most over the past 8 months. She'd called him several times in the middle of the night when she had a nightmare and he'd talk to her until she fell back asleep. Or just listened to her, until she fell back asleep. She'd wished for so long that it was Jordan she could call and talk to. But the reality was, it hadn't been Jordan, it'd been Orlando.

"Hello beautiful. How was Boston?" She knew what he meant was, how was Jordan. "Boston was good. My dad and Diane are both doing good. It was wonderful to see them. I've missed them so much."

"And Jordan? How was he?"

"He's about the same. I told him everything. He couldn't handle it. So I left without any further discussion and came home. I'm really glad you're here." He embraced her, knowing it hurt her that things weren't getting better with Jordan.

She pulled back from his embrace and kissed him. Really kissed him. She was so thankful she had him in her life. He returned her kiss. There they were, outside her apartment, for the world to see, kissing one another. And to her surprise it didn't feel wrong, or strange. It felt, somehow, right. "You wanna come upstairs? I'll make us some dinner."

Orlando, brushed his thumb across her cheek, wiping away a lone tear that Vivian had been powerless to keep from falling, smiled at her and said, "I'd love to." They turned together and went inside.

Unable to move, Jordan sat in his car, and watched the exchange between Vivian and Orlando.

As soon as she had left his house, he'd pulled himself together and gone after her. He wanted to catch up with her, tell her he was sorry for falling apart, but that he was fine now. It wouldn't happen again. He was going to ask if he could go with her to one of her therapy sessions. So he could really be a part of her recovery. He wanted to learn with her how they could recover together. As a couple.

He was too late.

He felt the pieces of his heart shatter. Why had he waited so long? Why didn't he force himself to be strong for her? Why did he let her leave and move to New York? Why did he fight with her every time they saw one another over the past months? I'm such a fucking idiot. And I've lost her because of it. Oh fuck this!! He got out of his car and crossed the street. But he stopped when he got to the doors to the lobby. He didn't go in, instead he turned and walked back to his car.

The drive back to Boston was incredibly hard. Every 5 minutes, he'd think about going back. Kicking Orlando's ass and taking his wife back. But he knew he'd never do that. Orlando wasn't a bad guy. He'd stood by Vivian as her friend for so long. He'd been a huge part of her recovery. And he'd always encouraged her to work things out with Jordan. He hadn't stolen her from him. Jordan has basically given her to him. And Jordan couldn't blame him for taking his chance with her once it was offered to him. Jordan had always known Orlando was in love with his wife. Not that Orlando ever let it be known. But a man can tell when another man is in love with his woman. Jordan could always see it when Orlando's eyes would find Vivian across a room. It was the way he looked at her when she didn't know he was looking at her. He never looked at her like that when they were face to face, only when she couldn't see him.

Jordan found himself rooting for Orlando. Hoping he'd finally get what he deserved. Then he shook his head,  remembering that was his wife. "Fuck you Orlando, you British prick."

Orlando's mind couldn't help but wander to Jordan. He felt like he had stolen what was his and it made him unhappy. He'd just finished making a movie about Jordan and the woman lying beside him. A movie about their amazing and romantic love story and how they endured tragedy and time just to find their way back to one another. Was he going to be just another obstacle in their path back to each other?

He didn't care if his time with her was limited. Making love to her and holding her afterwards was worth the heartache he knew awaited him later. He'd waited so long for her, never thinking it was a possibility. Then finally one night she'd kissed him. Making love to her that first time had been magical, like it was his first time all over again. He hadn't expected it to turn into anything. Now she's saying she wants them to give it a try. For them to be a couple.

Again, he knows its only temporary. She will find her way back to Jordan someday. But until then, he'll be here in whatever capacity she wants him to be. "You are so beautiful Vivi" he says to her as she sleeps in his arms. Or so he thought. "You're not so bad yourself Lando." He smiles, "You're awake?"

"Yes and you've got this look on your face like you're thinking too much." She brushes her fingers across his scowled forehead. "What weights so heavily on you my dear, sweet Lando?"

His smile faulters, then resumes, "Nothing. At least nothing important. Just thoughts better left unspoken I guess. Let's go to California for a bit. You don't get the twins back for 2 weeks, we can go hang out at my place until its time for you to have them again."

She thinks for a second, thinking of appointments she has here with her therapist, she can reschedule them though. "Okay, let's go to California. I've never stayed at your place before. I'll need to call my parents, the kids and Jordan just to let them all know I'm going. But after that I'll be good to go. You want to arrange our flight for tomorrow?"

He's ecstatic, time away just the two of them. "Okay,  you make your phone calls and I'll go make mine. We'll leave in the morning." He kisses her lips and gets out of her bed, still naked from their earlier love making, but feeling completely comfortable in front of her. He turns to look at her, her eyes are on him, taking in his nakedness. She's biting her lip as she stares at him. He feels himself harden under her stare. But right now they have calls to make, plenty of time for that later.
