Vivian receives another package of letters from Mary. Jordan brings the package to Vivian at her desk. She's been full of ideas after their research the night before. "Hey beautiful, you got a package from your publisher."
Vivian glances at it, "Can you sit it over on the table for now babe? I want to finish up this chapter before I forget what I want to say. I'd hate to forget after all the hard work you put in last night." He gives her a sly, sexy smile and kisses her softly on the lips.
"What's in the package from Mary?"
"Oh probably some more fan mail."
He looks at her, "You didn't tell me you about any fan mail. That's awesome babe. Have you gotten other packages like this from Mary?"
She gets embarrassed, "Just one other one. It's no big deal."
"Have you read them yet? What did they say? All good stuff I'm sure. Because your book was amazing." He picks up the large envelope and checks the weight. "This is pretty heavy, I wonder how many letters are in here."
She keeps typing. Without turning to look at him, she says, "Open it if you want to. Let me know what they say. But would you mind taking them into the other room. I really need to get these thoughts down."
He kisses her on the top of her head before he grabs the letters and goes into the living room.
About half an hour later, Vivian walks into the living room and finds Jordan sitting reading the letters. His back is to her, she sneaks up behind him and wraps her arms around him. She leans over to kiss him, but stops when she sees the concerned look on his face.
"What's the matter J?"
"Half of these are all from the same person Viv. And they're really personal. None are signed or have a return address. I mean this one talks about me and about us meeting on Carson's beach. How would anyone know that?"
Vivian picks up a couple of the letters and skims over them. She walks around the couch and sits with Jordan. "J, I'm sure they're harmless. And our story got out when everyone found out we got married. So its not that weird that they knew where we met. One of us probably mentioned it when we did an interview. Its nothing to worry about."
Jordan isn't convinced. He puts all the letters back in their envelopes and sits them aside. He wants to keep up with these letters, just in case. "Babe just bring anymore letters like this to me okay?"
She kisses him and says, "Okay but you're making a big deal out of nothing." She kisses him again, pushing all the letters onto the floor so she could lay back on the couch, pulling him on top of her. "We've got a couple hours before we have to pick the kids up. I say we make the most of it."
Jordan looks at his beautiful wife and kisses her passionately before saying, "Sounds good to me baby." This time he made love to his wife the "old fashioned" way, slowly and sensually, the way they both preferred it.
It makes him think about the first time they'd made love. It had been Vivian's first time ever, he'd always felt so honored to have been her first. The trust and love she'd shown she had in him that night had always meant so much to him. That feeling never changed for him. It meant as much to him now, after twenty years, as it had that night.
They stayed on the couch, naked and wrapped around each other long after they had finished. Vivian loved her kids and being a mom was amazing, but she missed her alone time with Jordan. She missed being able to just throw him down and take him any time she felt the urge, which was very often. But she would have to settle for the monthly visits the kids had with her parents, because she wouldn't trade them for the world.
Not that she and Jordan don't have an absolutely spectacular sex life, in their bedroom, when the kids were sleeping. It has just been seven years since they could make love in the living room and lay naked on the couch for as long as they wanted to afterwards.
As they were getting dressed Jordan picked up the letters again. "Viv, something just isn't sitting right in my gut. These letters need to be looked into. Tell Mary to send us the letters daily, overnight them. I'm not sure why but I feel weird about these. Promise me you'll take this seriously and keep me updated on the letters?"
"Yes J, I promise. But you worry too much." She rolls her eyes at him and then gives him a big smile.
"Babe, when it comes to you and your well being and safety, there's no such thing as worrying too much. You are my everything. My life begins and ends with you and our children. Do you understand that?" Jordan's serious and intense when he looks her right in her eyes and says this. She loses all her lightheartedness and knows it's no joke to him. "I know babe, I promise I'll keep you updated. I'll text Mary now and make sure she sends the letters each day, overnight." She puts her arms around him and squeezes. "I love you so much J."
"I love you too Viv. The thought of anything happening to you scares the hell out of me. I'll never let anything happen to you."
