"I have to go to one more meeting before I can go home. I want you to come with me. I'm going to tell Kate who I am and I think it would be better if you were there with me."
Jordan can't think of anything he'd rather do less. But he knows it's not fair to make Vivian do it alone. "Okay my love, I'll do whatever you need me to. I can't promise it'll go well."
Vivian and Jordan head over to the studio. Kate and Orlando are both waiting in Tim's office when Vivian and Jordan walk in. The tension between Orlando and Jordan is palpable. They just stare at each other. Vivian smiles at Orlando, his sneer turns to a smile.
"Jordan? Wow hi, long time no see." Kate said as she looked from Jordan to Vivian, then back to Jordan.
"Hi Kate. Yes it has been a long time. How have you been?"
"I'm good. What are you doing here?"
"Vivian is my wife. Her book is based on our lives. Congratulations on getting the part." Jordan turns to Orlando, "Can we talk for just a second?" Orlando says yes and they go into the hallway.
Kate and Vivian look at each other. "So you and Jordan? How long have you two been married?"
"Yeah. We met when we were seventeen. We dated for a couple of years. Then we broke up and lost touch for nine years. Then we ran into each other one day and we've been together ever since. We got married in 99, so we've been married ten years."
"So it was you?" Kate says staring at Vivian.
"What was me?"
"It was you he had given his heart too and the reason he couldn't love anyone else. And it was you that he married. He wasn't cheating on me with you. Did it really happen like you wrote in your book?"
"Yes. Jordan never cheated on you. I guess it was the day after ya'll broke up, I showed up at his hotel room to interview him for Billboard magazine. I'm sorry if you were hurt by it."
Kate smiles at her, "Vivian its okay. That was a long time ago. I got over it. It's so in the past. I'm glad you found your way back to him. True love is such a rare thing. Your story is amazing and I'm really happy for him and you."
Jordan and Orlando finally come back into the room. They are laughing and seem to have patched things up. Jordan looks back and forth between Vivian and Kate. "Everything okay in here?"
"Yeah Jordan I was just getting to know your beautiful wife. You got lucky with this woman. I'm really happy for you." She stands up and gives him a big hug.
Jordan looks at his watch and looks at Vivian, "We need to get going soon if we're going to make our fligh babe. The kids are ready for mommy to be home."
"Kids? You have kids?" Kate asks Vivian.
"Yes, we have twins, a boy and girl. They're seven now."
Before they can get into a conversation about their family, Tim comes in and gives them a tentative schedule for the next few months. They discuss a few locations in Boston they are booking and getting permits for. Vivian and Jordan are pleased they will be filming at Carson's Beach. Its their special place. They will also be filming at the boardwalk. "I wanted to ask about the photobooth. Where was that exactly?"
Vivian looks over at Jordan, all the love she feels for him showing in her eyes, "Its at the arcade. And last time we took the kids it was still there. I still have our very first photos we took at that booth twenty years ago." Everyone else in the room seems to disappear as she looks at Jordan and remembers that day. She touches his hand. "Tim is that all? We've got a flight to catch."
"Yes, that should just about cover it. I'll see you in a month, in Boston. Have a safe trip home."
Vivian says her goodbyes and excuses herself to use the restroom before they leave.
Jordan's driver picks them up and Jordan tells him to head to the airport. Vivian tells to head to their house, she forgot something. So they head to the house. Vivian tells the driver, "Change of plans, can you pick us up in the morning. Our flight has been changed. Can you be here at 6am please." Jordan stares at Vivian, but he doesn't argue.
"I talked to Donnie and Angie, they're going to keep the kids another night so we can leave in the morning. If that's okay with you. I thought a night alone might be nice."
"Vivian there's nothing I'd like more than to spend alone time with my wife. The only thing is that I don't want us to fall back into old patterns. Fight and argue, then have amazing makeup sex and think its all okay. I do want to go talk to a counselor. I don't understand why we've been fighting so much lately. I don't like it. It's not us."
"I feel the same way J. I can't stand it. I don't feel like us most of the time. Is it going to be too difficult for us both to have busy careers? Is that what's going on? The shift happened when you started talking about going on tour. Are we both insecure about being apart? We definitely need to see someone to figure out what the hell is going on. But until then we can still have that amazing makeup sex right?"
Jordan smiles his sexiest smile and licks his lips. "Of course we can babe. Come here."
They spend the rest of the day and night making love. First in the bedroom. Then in the shower. After a long nap and some dinner, Jordan starts a fire in the fire place. They lay a blanket down on the floor and make love again.
"Do you remember our first time J?"
"Like it was tonight. Why do you ask that? Do you think I could ever forget that night? It was one of the best nights of my entire life."
"I think about that night every time you make love to me J. That night saved me. I'd go back there in my mind whenever Jason would..." she pauses, curling up closer to Jordan's side. "That was the best night of my life. The night I felt the most loved. You are the best thing that ever happened to me Jordan. Please don't ever forget that. No matter what, you will always be the only one for me. I love you so much."
