Jordan, Vic, Lexington and Layla all sat waiting for Vivian to come back from having tests run. The kids laughed and talked, telling Jordan all about the plane ride to California and the drive up to see their Mom. They told him how grandpa sang, they said he was a good singer. "But not as good as you Daddy." Layla said as she curled up in Jordan's lap. She was being extremely sweet and clingy today. He knew she was tired and worried from the way she played with her long blonde hair. Her eyes began to close as she continued to talk about their trip. Lexington was wide awake though, he wouldn't allow himself to rest. He just wanted to see his mom. He knew something must be wrong if she was in the hospital.

"Dad, why is momma in the hospital?"

"She got hurt. She broke her arm and had to have surgery to fix it. But she's going to be okay."

Just then the door opened and Vivian was rolled in. When her eyes met the kids, Jordan's heart sank. She didn't light up like he thought she would. She just looked more pained. But she forced a smile for them. "Hey my sweet babies. When did you get here?"

Lexington slowly walked over to her. He placed his hand on hers and leaned in to kiss her cheek. Tears filled her eyes. "Hi Mommy. Are you feeling okay?"

"I'm feeling so much better now that you're here. I've missed you so much."

Jordan woke Layla, "Baby girl, your mom's here."

Layla opened her eyes, she looked at Vivian and clung to Jordan. He put her off his lap. She looked at him and he nodded at her. Layla turned back to her mom and slowly walked over to her.

"Hi Mommy, I've missed you. I'm glad you're okay and are coming home." She kissed her cheek and reached over to play with her mom's hair like she had been playing with her own.

"Oh my sweet girl, I love you so much."

Jordan noticed Vivian didn't embrace either Lex or Layla. He chalked it up to her being in pain. He knew her arm had to be hurting. She hadn't had much rest today. He hoped the doctor would come in soon with her test results. He needed a little good news.

Vic helped Vivian out of the wheelchair and back into her bed. Then he sat next to her and spoke quietly to her. Jordan couldn't hear what he was saying and thought he should give them a little privacy. "Babe, I'm going to take the kids down to the car and get you the change of clothes I brought you."

"Thank you Jordan, that would be great. I'd really like to get into some of my own clothes." He walked over and kissed her on the forehead. His lips lingered there for a long moment. He couldn't bare the thought of leaving her side. But knew Vic needed a minute alone with his daughter. And the kids needed a break.

When Jordan and the kids walked back into the room, Vic was sitting next to Vivian on the bed, his arm around her shoulders, she was resting against his side, crying. Jordan wanted to be the one to comfort his wife. But she wouldn't let him. He tried to just be glad she was getting comfort from someone.

Lex had insisted on stopping at the gift shop to get her flowers, Layla picked out a teddy bear for her. They gave her their gifts and she finally beamed at them. "Oh thank you my sweet babies, these flowers are beautiful and ya'll know how much I love teddy bears. Come over here and let me get my arm around you two." Both kids hugged their mom. She gave them each a good squeeze. Lex lingers, standing by her bedside. Until Vic stands up and tells him to come sit with his momma. Lex climbs up into Vivian's waiting arm. He nuzzles up to her side and lays his head on her chest and almost immediately falls asleep. Layla's back in Jordan's lap sleeping as they sit next to her bed. They rest like this for maybe half an hour.

Dr. Davis knocked on the door as he walked in. He smiled at them, which Jordan hoped meant he had good news. And he did. Vivian was given a clean bill of health. Physically anyway. She'd just have to schedule follow up visits with her doctor at home. A nurse came in a few minutes later with Vivian's discharge papers for her to sign.

Jordan asked Vic if he'd go ahead and start the drive back with the kids. He asked Jordan how he was going to get back. He told Vic that he had rented a car. Vic looked at Vivian and she nodded her head. Vivian kissed her dad and kids and told them she'd see them soon. Jordan hugged and kissed the kids and told them to be good. He watched them leave with their grandfather. When they were gone, he turned to look at Vivian.

"Hey beautiful. You want to change into your own clothes and get the hell out of here?" Vivian finally looked Jordan in the eyes and nodded her head.

"Yeah, I'd really like that J." He handed her the bag he'd packed for her. But she just looked at him. "Babe, I'm going to need a little help." Jordan opened the bag and pulled her clothes out. He undid the ties of her hospital gown and slid it off her good arm, then easily moved it down her casted arm. Now she stood in front of him naked.

Normally his wife standing naked in front of him would have him standing at attention. But not tonight, tonight it kills a little piece of him. She's got small cuts and bruises all over her. He tries to pretend not to see them. He does his best to ignore what he sees. He's careful not to hurt Vivian as he dresses her. Once she's in her own clothes she seems to feel a little better. Jordan though, he wants to forget what he saw. He's just thankful his wife is coming home.

"You hungry babe?" Jordan asked Vivian as they got on the road.

"Yes, I'm famished. Can we stop at Carl's Jr.?"

How could he ever say no to that smiling face? "Of course babe, whatever you want." Jordan stopped at the first Carl's Jr. he saw. They decided to go through the drive thru and then eat in the car somewhere. Jordan stopped at the beach and they sat and ate their food in silence.

Vivian finally spoke up, "Jordan, I'm not sure I'll ever want to talk to you about what happened. I just want to put it behind me. I'm putting my foot down on this. And if you push me on it it won't be pretty. I'm sorry to be so stern but I know you and I know you're going to try and fix me. But don't, okay. I just want to get back to normal. What's going on with the movie? Have you talked to Orlando?"

Jordan didn't like what she had to say but he knew not to push her, and he wouldn't as long as he didn't have to.

"I'm not really sure what's going on with the movie. I haven't been keeping up with it. I'm assuming nothing is going on with it. Orlando's been at the house almost everyday. We had a call center set up at the house and he was there most days answering calls."

He couldn't help but notice her smile. It made him feel a little uneasy. When he looked over at her a little while later she had fallen asleep. He let her sleep until they made it to the house.
