Chapter 10
"Sasha," a deep voice said in the empty cell. Hallucination. I knew I was hallucinating because it couldn't be possible that anyone was with me besides the guard. The voice seemed so familiar and my body heated up at the way it sounded. My heart beat stuttered at the tone. Slowly looking up the anticipation that filled me from knowing someone had come to get me filled my heart with hope. But when I looked into the face of my savior, my heart crumbled.
It was Xavier. He stood in front of me like a dark knight with the light shinning bright behind him. The outlines of his muscles were visible and I couldn't help but bite my lip to keep the craving desire locked behind the bars of my consciousness. My blood started to boil at the sight of him. My heart was pounding loud in my chest with an unknowing feeling of happiness but my mind; it was filled with vengeances and hatred.
I was angry, angry at myself for letting my emotions get the best of me. I've only known Xavier for three days and yet my body's unusual over sensational heat that rose whenever he was near left me craving for something that was never there in the first place. I gave him a questioning look. I had a good guess that Lacey informed Xavier of my whereabouts and now here he was bailing me out. The embarrassment and anger that filled me was an over rush of emotions.
I couldn't look Xavier in the eye anymore, looking away behind him I found a large officer standing behind him. His large stomach and cold black eyes made me shiver in trepidation. The nice woman guard was long gone leaving me with two people I didn't want to be near. Footsteps came near me and I could tell it wasn't Xavier. In the short time I was with Xavier, I figured out he had the most silent and deadly walk. The footsteps that came closer and closer to me were loud and bulky.
"Come on," mumbled the officer. I was ready to get up on my own, when my right wrist was yanked up. My cuts opened up and I could feel the blood start to come out and stain the officer's hands. "What the." The officer's confuse words were covered by my unknown whimper. The cuts burned my wrist. I snatched it away nursing it with my other hand.
The blood started to soak through the sleeve of my blue shirt leaving a dark pink stain. A loud growl pushed my mind away from the pain in my wrist. Xavier's loud words rang loud and clear through the silent hall. "DON'T TOUCH HER!" I tried not to flinch back in fear at Xavier's words. The officer looked to be unfazed but the way his hands shook as he slowly let go of me told me otherwise. Xavier sent a glare the officer's way.
I didn't understand why everyone seemed to submit to him. The officer and Xavier had a silent conversation as I held onto my bloody wrist. I bit the inside of my cheek to suppress a groan. Suddenly the officer left leaving behind a very pissed off handsome teenager with a bloody idiot twig of a girl. I tried not to giggle as I imagined the ridiculous thoughts that had entered my mind.
My only guess as to why the absurdity of the situation had me in a fit of laughs was because I was dehydrated. My humor vanished as Xavier appeared before me in thin air. I tried holding on to the wound but fighting against Xavier was like fighting against a stubborn mule. His fingers gently glided over the blood stained sleeve to the tip. I held in a sharp intake of breath from the warmth I felt seeping through the flimsy thin shirt.
I couldn't look him in the eye when he finally pulled at the sleeve. I could hear the way his breathing pattern changed as he took a look at the cuts. I couldn't even look at the cuts knowing I would look at them in shame. Xavier gently pulled at my uninjured wrist tugging me out of the cell. I let him lead the way knowing I was too embarrassed and angry to do anything. As we passed other girls just around my age, I could hear them hoot and holler at Xavier.
