Plopping down on the bed after my shower, I laid back and took a huge breath.
It was quiet, too quiet.
Usually I don't mind it but I felt as if I could hear all the minimal noise in my apartment sucked into my hearing to produce a buzzing sound that made me wince. I rolled over and ended up facing my night stand. With quick hands, I grabbed my phone to play some music while I prepared for an early night.
Instead of my phone, the two little strips of paper caught my attention. I held them side by side to one another, whispering the phrases and etching them to memory. My eyes followed the letters, noticing that some of them were bold.
The first one I received had a bold "s" but the second one had more. I recited the letters and let out a gasp.
Soon I thought or noos. I shook my head on that nonsense and giggled. Hmm...maybe I should find the rightful owner of who these belong to before I get a surprise visit and they receive a surprise disappointment.
I chuckled only for it to be interrupted with the sound of my door bell.
My wild beating heart trickled into my finger tips as they trembled. Maybe I have spoken too soon.
Lifting from my bed, I made sure my robe was tied tight and my towel remained secured to my head. My slippers sounded scratchy against the floor as dragged them toward my entrance. I peek through to glance at my visitor who was very unfamiliar but that applies to anyone I didn't know in a new city.
Shrugging, I opened the door only allowing the visibility of my head. The gentleman on the other side solicited a tiny smile with glowing cheeks that shine brighter than the light in the corridor. I frowned a bit noticing it was the same smile that I was acquainted with leaving work today.
Did he follow me?
"H-Hi...May I help you?" I gripped my door tighter, ready to slam it in his face in case he's some crazy person but I know I could take him if he tried anything.
My Taekwondo is strong.
"We are looking for someone who may live here." He answered.
May? I knew it. The secret admirer note passer is here to make his confession. It almost hurts to have to break his heart. I took a deep breath and put on my best apologetic face.
"I'm sorry sir, but I'm the only one that lives here. I don't think I'm the one you are looking for." A polite smile curved my lips before I attempted to close the door but a frown soon appeared as I noticed he glanced next to him as if he was looking at someone.
Was he not alone? Oh gosh! Am I about to be kidnapped?
"Okay, I must be going now!" A slight raise in my exclaim drew his attention. As I was closing the door, I felt it halt, a pretty strong one no doubt. My gaze fell to the hand acting as a manual door stop before climbing up to the visual of the human it belonged to.
Eyes widened while my heartbeat traveled to my ear and in a slow notion, consumed every crevice of my body. A full head of loosely curled hair dangled a bit over his eyes but wasn't so much of a distraction that I couldn't see them.
They were very clear and gleamed with curiosity, as did mine.
He gulped before lips twitched to a corner smile, his stare never faltered from me.
It can't be! It just can't! My thoughts somersaulted the phrase, repeating before I could even convince myself otherwise.
"Kye? Is it you?" The throaty yet heart pounding intense voice spoke, threw me in a whirlpool of surprise. Never would I have ever imagined him to sound this way.
"Yes. I'm Kye." I spoke low, seized between shocked and nonplussed.
His smile grew wider when his shoulders fell and a deep gasp exuded his lips as if reliving himself from a massive tension. However, I was still in a trance of confusion.
"It's me Kye. It's Taehyung." He grinned in what was the most beautiful smile I have ever laid my eyes on. Not even the ones from his photos could compare to the one staring back at me.
A sheepish chuckle somehow manage to escape me and I was even more flustered while my body was consuming in goosebumps
Holy mother! It's really him! "Taehyung?"
A gasp of absolution escaped him. "Yeah! I can't believe I..."
"Oh my gosh!" I yelled before slamming the door in his face.
This wasn't the way I imagined meeting him for the first time especially not with a towel wrapped around my head in my pink, plush robe and furry bunny slippers.
How embarrassing!
A low knock against the door jarred me as I turned my gaze to it. "Umm...Kye? Are you okay?" His voice muffled from the other side.
"Y-Yeah! It's just...I'm not dressed so give me five minutes, okay?" I am now mortified.
"Okay. I will wait here."
I absorbed his response before I realized I only had five minutes to make another impression. I hurried down the hall, panicked and mumbling how I could possibly recover from this.
