I woke up this morning feeling a bit sore, guessing it was from my activities on yesterday. Rolling over, I nestled in my comforter and snuggled with my pillows tight, not wanting to let go of the feeling.
Everything around me was so quiet and calm until I dialed into my senses more and heard what sounded like rain falling.
Turning over from my warm spot, I peered out and saw the cloudy skies and rain falling to a steady pace.
No wonder I didn't want to move.
Unsure of what our plan was for the day, I was about to call Taehyung until a knock on my door interrupted me.
"One second!" I yelled as I eased off the bed and over to the bathroom to grab the complimentary robe and threw it on before answering.
"Room service for Kye." The gentleman stated.
"I'm Kye but I didn't order any room service." I shook my head on the sudden surprise.
"I did." A familiar voice rumbled behind the concierge.
I gasped lowly before a polite smile hugged my lips in thanks. Opening the door more, I allowed all parties inside.
Taehyung assisted the gentleman in placing the trays on the table next to the balcony entrance. There were two settings so I could only assume he would be joining me. I watched him tip the concierge before leaving. He then turned to me and smiled.
"Good Morning." His voice low but warm.
"Good Morning." I lowered my head in very shy manner, though I don't know why. Perhaps it was the sweet gesture but I feel as if it's more than that. "So, breakfast?" I asked.
Taehyung smiled "Yes. I'm sorry I missed having breakfast with you on yesterday so I figured I would make up for it today, especially since we will have to stay another day." He explained.
"Another day?"
Taehyung glanced over to the balcony, watching the rain. "I don't think you would want to sail back to Maui in that." He grinned, turning back towards me.
I nodded. "You're right."
"So, shall we?" Taehyung held out his hand toward the seat he suggested I take.
Grinning at him, I sat down and he followed. I lifted the cover to my tray to find a traditional Hawaiian breakfast. This made me even happier. "You are definitely making sure we indulge in the Hawaii experience aren't you?"
That gleaming smile, serving as sunshine in this day of overcast made it's appearance as he removed the lid from his tray. "Of course I am." he uttered deep before taking a bite of his food. "Isn't that what we planned?"
"Well, technically, we didn't really plan. We mentioned. Nothing was ever set in stone." I amended.
Taehyung finished chewing before he puckered his lip to a pout. "So...you don't like what we are doing?"
He can't be serious, can he? "Of course I do but..." The elaborate layout of this vacation began to circle my mind as I began to chew on my bottom lip to stop myself from a prying nature.
"But?" He inquired.
I lowered my gaze down to my food and shook my head. "Nothing. Everything is perfect." I took a distraction bite of it. "This is pretty good!" I lifted my gaze back to see Taehyung in a heavy stare aimed in my direction. I couldn't even began to describe what it was doing to me. Shivers ran through while my chest felt heavy from the tension it created.
How I was able to withhold this feeling while being hypnotized was a short of a magic trick.
Caught in a trance that I couldn't escape.
His eyes were magnetizing.
There was so much thought and curiosity framed in them that I would have given anything in this moment to know what he was thinking.
Or how he was feeling.
My mind wandered back to that moment in the car or the horseback riding trail for that matter. Why the intensity Taehyung? What had you bounded in such deep thought? A low gasp broke free of me, releasing me from this daze.
"Taehyung?" My voice lower than a whisper, almost holding a hint of fright.
His lips curved into a tiny grin at the sound of his name. I think he knows exactly what he's doing but why is he doing this?
"What would you like to do after breakfast?" He inquired, trailing from his daze and me from my thoughts.
I took one look out toward the balcony, admiring the rain in the brief moment, then back at him. "If I was home, I'd have my tea while curled up on the couch reading or watching a movie."
Taehyung narrowed his eyes before gripping his lip against his teeth. "Hmm..." He mumbled before getting up from the table and walking over to the nightstand. Picking up the phone, he dialed a number and began speaking in quick tongues before hanging up and rejoining me for our breakfast.
I lifted my brow in curiosity but he smiled and continued eating his breakfast, ignoring my silent wonder. Now he's being visibly secretive. I think it's time that I pull one these 'shhhs' from him. I'm onto you Taehyung.
My gaze was set to him while he ate and smiled, playing his little quiet game. "So," I began, "are you going to tell me how you manage to secure me taking off a week from work?"
Taehyung grinned as he took a sip of his juice. "I told you, I can be very persuasive."
Scoffing, I set my fork down and crossed my arms and scowled. "That doesn't answer my question. You're being vague."
Taehyung chuckled at my annoyance but a look of interest inherited his features as he tilted his head slightly. "I know," he mocked.
I told myself I wouldn't pry but I'm feeling as if Taehyung is really hiding something that could be big. What if my brother was right? Is he involved in criminal activity? The Taehyung that would write me didn't seem as if he could hurt a fly, let alone someone else. Should I be worried?
A loud pound to my door startled my thoughts as I was about to get up and answer but Taehyung stopped me. He went instead and came back just as quick as he left. In his hand, was a bag he placed next to him.
"What's in there?" My question was quick from the curiosity that fed it.
Suddenly there it was again, that smile. The one that greeted me just days ago when I opened my door to find him on the other side of it. It was happy, comforting. Seeing it instantly eased my mini aggravation on him and made me move past it. The way his cheeks raised, extending that adorable grin was like a heaven on earth and it made my heart skip in leaps.
I had to catch my breath. I was staring and it made me shy again. I shook my head from my silliness.
Taehyung reached in the bag and pulled out two mugs and bags of my favorite tea, laying them in the center. I watched him exhale before he gazed at me. "This," he pointed to the display, "is our day. Ready whenever you are."
My lips parted but not a sound escaped. If my heart skipped in leaps before, it was sure to be bursting now.
