We finished breakfast.
I don't think my heart ever slowed from the suggestion Taehyung made of how we should spend our day. He wanted to do what I would do on a day like this, watch movies and drink warm tea. I glanced out of the corner of my eye over onto my unmade bed, realizing that was the only place we would be able to find some kind of comfort.
Suddenly I felt dizzy from the thought.
My eyes then wander over realizing that I was still in my robe. "Oh my gosh!" I yelled without thinking.
Taehyung looked over at me with raised brows, eyes wide with protruding lips and wonder plastered into the creases of his forehead.
I just love embarrassing myself around him.
Lowering my head, I opened the closet and found something that could take the place of this robe which by the way, resurrects the wonder of where did these threads come from? He actually purchased clothes for me to go horseback riding and sleep in. Thoughful, yes but the question of 'how' still lingers.
Taking what seemed okay to wear, I rushed to the bathroom and closed the door quickly, releasing a full exhale. Peering at myself in the mirror, I shook my head on my weird behavior.
Get it together Kye!
I did a quick morning routine and tried to make myself look as nice as possible. I cursed myself for not putting my small makeup emergency kit in my bag so I'm going all natural today.
Suddenly, I felt a dip in my self esteem.
Why am I tripping? It's Taehyung and he's just a friend. Like he notices me with or without makeup anyway.
Staring in the mirror, I tilted my head to the side, frowning at the lazy curl dangling in front of me. My hair was already in a high bun from last night so to accompany that curl, I pulled down one on both sides of my face and two strands in the back. I'm not sure what made me do this but I eased my nerves someone.
My self esteem began to spike back up.
I placed the robe on the hook behind the door and folded my pajamas neatly, gripping them tightly as I opened the door and walked back into the room.
Taehyung's gaze found mine on instant and I'm not sure but I thought there was something different about them.
Aside from his usual penetrating stare, this one seemed soft. My heartbeat and pulse mashed into a single thump. My knees could give away at any moment if I didn't knock myself out of this trance.
A quick pounding on the door did that instead.
Taehyung gulped before he brushed past me and opened the door. I used this opportunity to first, breathe and second put away the clothes that were in my hand.
The concierge had come to collect our dishes from breakfast.
Scanning the room I noticed the comforter on the bed was straightened, not as neat as housekeeping would probably make it but it was nice enough.
His sweet side is showing.
The TV was on and it seems as though he entered in his Netflix information. A variety of Korean movies and dramas were on under the "Trending" tab. I smiled wondering his guilty pleasures.
Once it was back to the two of us, Taehyung walked over to me with two mugs in hand. He presented one to me and he held the other.
"Ready?" He smiled.
Am I? I wondered. A smile was my reply.
With both hands resting on my mug, I closed my eyes and took a sip, humming as the warm substance coursed through me and fevered my chilling nerves. Lavender tea is my absolute favorite and when the flavors of this liquid heaven meets my lips, permeates my taste buds and flows down so smoothly, I've entered another world.
"Kye?"
My eyes jolted open, witnessing Taehyung smiling at me.
"Good?" He asked but it sounded more like a tease.
"Yes. Very good. It's my favorite so, always good." I'm rambling. I should stop talking.
Taehyung took a sip of his and nodded. "I have to say that I agree but I'm not ready to risk it all and marry it the way you were a few seconds ago." He grinned.
I tapered my gaze to him. "Very funny."
A light chuckle echoed from his lips as he walked over to the night stand and placed his cup down before sitting on the bed. His long body stretched across it and grabbed the remote before he sat back. I realized my eyes followed his every move, noticing the grace of his movement and the concentrated look on his face. I didn't notice before the way his air dried hair laid on both sides of his head, exposing his forehead.
I was admiring him.
Taehyung tapped the spot next to him with a small grin on his face making my heart race for the nth time. I set my cup next to his and joined him on the bed. I was hoping to put some space between us but he sealed it quick as my shoulder rested on his upper arm.
Sometimes, it doesn't register how tall he is compared to me.
"What should we watch first?" I could hear the low key excitement in his voice.
I guess I should be excited too. I get to spend a day with the person I've dreamt of doing something as simple as watching television with for years and now that it's happening, it just doesn't seem real. I grinned softly at this thought.
"What?" Taehyung peered over to me and asked.
I shook my head. "Nothing." I turned to him, gaze falling on instant to his lips before rolling up slowly to meet his. My chest became heavy as if sumo wrestler were sitting on it. Breathing was difficult and short.
The seconds seem to move slow as we stared at one another. The expressions on his face were soft and still, though his eyes wandered me as I him. The intensity of his stare was a sheathing force that gripped me, mounting my curiosity and thoughts to only him. It breached my sanity and my thoughts were beginning to stray in various paths beyond my reality.
I don't have much practice being around him so I wonder is he always like this with everyone he comes in contact with?
"It's definitely you." His words were profound, correlating the mood of this moment and almost sounding as if he answered my question.
"S-Sorry?" I stuttered, hoping I was misreading his statement.
"It's Definitely You, the drama? You know the one with your favorite actor. We should watch it together." He suggested.
My breathing was beginning to find normality. I shouldn't hallucinate such things. Taehyung is probably this way with everyone. I'm just getting it firsthand while learning of his personality.
I'm being weird again.
"Right! Yes! Bring on the handsome Kim Seokjin." I grinned my way out of my awkwardness.
Taehyung rolled his eyes away from me and over into the direction of the television as he searched for the drama. I turned my attention to the TV as well and smiled when he found it. He pressed play to start the show, marking the beginning of our day.
♥️♥️♥️
I was going over the sequence of this story and realized that "Sincerely" is going to be a long book. This is chapter 13 and they are just on day 2 of their trip. If you decide to ditch the book for this reason it's okay but I hope you stick around to see what's to develop between these two.
Happy Valentine's Day!
