We were all sat in transfiguration, waiting for the lesson to start. However we were still all on edge after what happened to Mrs Norris, but lessons had to continue.
"Today we will be transforming animals into water goblets" Professor McGonagall said "1,2,3 vereverto"
All of a sudden the animal turned into a stunning water goblet , it looked amazing.
"Now who would like to go" she looked around the room and her eyes landed on Ron, who was sat next to me.
"Mr weasley, 1,2,3 vereverto" she said to him
Ron cleared his throat and pointed his wand at his rat.
"Vereverto" he said
The spell worked , however the water goblet was furry and had a tail, which made everyone laugh.
"That wand needs replacing Mr Weasley" McGonagall said to him
I saw Hermione put her hand up in the air.
"Yes Miss Granger?" McGonagall asked
"Professor" she said "I was wondering if you could tell us about the Chamber of Secrets?"
Everyone is the room started muttering to one another.
"Very well" McGonagall said "as you all know Hogwarts was founded many years ago by Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff , Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin, now 3 of the founders co-exsisted quite harmoniously, one did not"
"Three guesses who" Ron said to me
"Salazar Slytherin wanted to be more selective of the students admitted to Hogwarts" McGonagall continued " He believed that magical learning should be kept within all magic families , in other words pure bloods"
Malfoy looked over at me so I just sneered at him and continued to listen to McGonagall,
"Unable to sway the others he decided to leave the school" she continued "legend tells us that Slytherin built a secret chamber in the school known as the chamber of secrets but shortly before departing he sealed it, until his own true heir would return to the school and the heir alone would be able to open the chamber to release the horror within which would rid the school of those, who is Slytherins eyes, were unworthy to study magic"
"Muggleborns" I said looking at her
She nodded at me and continued to tell her story.
"Well naturally the school has been searched many times and no such chamber has been found" she says walking back up to the front of the class
"Professor?" Hermione asks "what does legend tell us lies within the chamber"
"The chamber is said to be home to something only the heir of Slytherin can control, it is said to be home to a monster" McGonagall replies
"Do you think it's true? Do you think their really is a chamber of secrets?" Ron asks us as we walk down the corridor
"Yes couldn't you tell, McGonagall was worried, all the teachers are" I reply
"So if the chamber of secrets has been opened then that means the heir of Slytherin has returned to Hogwarts" Harry says
"But the question is , who is it?" Hermione says
"Let's think , who do we know who thinks all muggle borns are scum" Ron says
"If you're talking about Malfoy" Hermione says
"Of course you heard him , you'll be next mudbloods" Ron says
"He has a point Mione, I mean Malfoy has a motive . His family are all pure bloods and they're all in Slytherin" I say to her
"Crabbe and Goyle must know, maybe we can trick them into telling" Harry says
"Even they aren't that thick , but there might be another way" Hermione says "but mind you it would be difficult and we'd be breaking about 50 school rules and it'll be dangerous, very dangerous.
