Chapter 18

Your POV:

We're sat in class studying and everyone keeps staring at Harry weirdly.
He looks at me and I just smile sympathetically as does Ron and Hermione.
Harry looks around the room, he closes his book.

"I'll meet you back in the common Room" he says to us

He stands up and leaves the room.

"Harry wait" I say as I stand up but Hermione grabs my sleeve.

"Just leave him , he needs time alone" she says to me

I sit down and carry on studying.

Harry's POV:

I leave the room and once again I hear the voice.
I follow the voice down the corridor until I see Nearly Headless nick and on the floor is a petrified Justin.
I kneel down beside him and I hear a voice. It's Mr Filch.

"I'll get you out this time Potter" he says "mark my words"

I stand up quickly.
"Mr Filch no you don't understand" I say however he's already walked away.

A couple of minutes later he comes back with Professor McGonagall.
I look at her.
"Professor I swear I didn't" I say to her

"This is out of my hands Potter" she tells me

She leads me down the corridor until we reach the entrance to Professor Dumbledore's office.

"Sherbet lemon" she says
The entrance opens and I walk up the stairs and into the office.
I enter however I don't see Professor Dumbledore anywhere.

"Be In your bonnet Potter" a voice says from beside me

I turn around and see the sorting hat.

"I was just wondering if you put me in the right house" I say to it

"I stand by what I said last year" he replies "you would have done well in Slytherin"

"You're wrong" I say

I turn to the other side and see a beautiful red bird standing on a perch. I approach it but before I know it the bird just catches fire.
I am so dead.

"Harry?" Professor Dumbledore says from the stairs above me

"Professor" I say "your bird. There was nothing I could do, it just caught fire"

"And about time to" Dumbledore says "he's been looking dreadful for days"

I just look at him confused what does he mean it's about time. Was it supposed to catch fire?
Dumbledore must see my confused face because he explains everything to me.

"Fawkes is a Phoenix Harry" he says "they catch fire when it is time for them to die and they are reborn from the ashes"

Just as he says that a small head pokes out from the ashes and Dumbledore pats his head.
"Fascinating creatures Phoenixes" he says "they can carry immensely heavy loads and their tears of healing powers"

All of a sudden the door bursts open and Hagrid charges in holding what looks like a dead chicken.

"Professor Dumbledore sir! Wait" he says "Professor Dumbledore sir it wasn't Harry"

"Hagrid" Dumbledore says

"In fact I'd be willing to swear it in front of the ministry of magic" he says

"Hagrid!" Dumbledore shouts so he can get his attention "relax, I do not believe Harry attacked anyone"

"Of course you don't" Hagrid argues clearly not listening to Dumbledore but he soon realises what's been said "oh right ok I'll just wait outside then"
