Year 3- Chapter 1

Your POV:

I wake up to my mum and dad standing over me. I open my eyes fully and sit up.

"Happy Birthday Sweetheart" my mum says to me

"Thanks mum" I say

Today is my 13th birthday and I'm so excited also school starts again in a few weeks and I can't wait to see my friends.
My mum and dad leave my room so I can get up. I get out of bed, brush my hair and go down stairs.

My mum ushers me into the front room where I see a pile of presents. A ginormous smile spreads across my face. I hug my mum and dad and go and sit down.

I pick up the first present and read the label.

Happy Birthday!! We hope you love your present and we can't wait to see you again soon!

I tear open the wrapping and see a card with pictures of Ron and I all over it. I open it, it reads.

Y/n! You're finally 13! Whooo! Have a wonderful day and ill see you in a few weeks! Plus I'm in Egypt right now and it's amazing! Anyway see you soon.

I just laugh at his stupidness. The other two things are a hat and gloves knitted by Mrs Weasley. I need to make sure I thank them.

I put them to the side and open another present.
The label reads:

Happy 13th Birthday! I hope you have an awesome day!!! I can't wait to see you soon so I can tell you all the amazing things I've done this summer! Hope you like your present!

I open the present and see two books stacked neatly on top of each other.
One is Hogwarts A history and the other is Fantastic Beasts and where to find them. I open the book and see that Hermione has written something inside.

Because I know how much you love magical creatures xx

I just smile at how thoughtful she is.
I put them to the side near the present from the Weasleys.

"This one came in this morning" My dad says as he hands me one wrapped extremely neatly in emerald green wrapping paper.

I look at the label.

"Who's Draco?" My mum asks as she peers over my shoulder.

"He's a friend from school, we only really became friends last year though" I tell her

"Oh okay well go on open it" she says

I carefully open the wrapping and see a box. I open the box and inside is a silver necklace with a little hippogriff charm on the end of it. I take it out of the box and admire it, it's absolutely beautiful. A little note falls out.

I got you this because I saw you reading a book about hippogriffs and it reminded me of you. Also to apologise for everything I did to you during first year, I'm incredibly sorry but I'm glad we're friends now no matter what my father says. See you in a few weeks xx

"Mum can you put this on for me?" I ask my mum

"Of course" she says
She puts the necklace on me.
