Chrysoprase Lapis was born the second daughter into the Lapis family, one of the most well known pureblood families left in the world.
The Lapis family was sought after and almost any pureblood family with sons about their age had send them letters, arranging for a marriage. Well... First only for Sapphire who, being the older one by 8 years, already went to Hogwarts when Chrysoprase was merely 3.
The Lapis family was sought after and almost every pureblooded boy her age was glued to Sapphires feet.
When the older sister had reached the age of 16 their father announced her to be betrothed to one of those pureblood boys.
The Lapis family was sought after and they turned away from their families traditions when instead of marrying the boy like planned Sapphire committed suicide.
It had looked horribly painful. The way Chrysoprases sister had been splayed out against the brick ground in front of their three story mansion.  Sapphire Lapis had thrown herself off the roof and blood had already begun to stain the bricks when the rest of the family had stormed outside. Achat Lapis had screamed out in horror and run to his daughter while Jean had only bursted into tears and immediately pulled her youngest daughter into her arms to shield her from the view of her best friend and older sister. But it was too late and Chrysoprase too intelligent to not realize what had happened. So there she cried.  Holding onto her mother.

It had only changed them all. For better or for worse. Achat had begun to retreat from his family and Jean had begun to cling to her second daughter as if the girl were a lifeline. Nothing in hell would have her loose another one.
Sapphires bleached blonde hair she had always preferred over the brunette locks she was born with had been splayed around her when she had been laid to rest in a beautiful glass coffin on the tombs underneath the mansion where there were rows of glass coffins before hers. She was given her place amongst her ancestors.
