a little annoyance

"Chrys! Come on. Breakfast is ready." She laughs and hurries up to get dressed. The girl had spent her last week of holidays at the Diggorys home. Her favorite place to be since her first time spending a night there. The same Hermione that Harry and him after that were suddenly best friends with. But who was she to care? She had found a way better friend in Cedric Diggory who loyally stood by her side. Jogging down the stairs she jumps into the older boys arms and he sets her down. They share a tender smile and walk into the kitchen arm in arm. "Chrysoprase. Perfect. Sit you two. We'll meet the others soon. The portkey is set for departure in two hours.", Amos Diggory says and Chrysoprase sighs. She'd just cling to Cedric so she wouldn't fall on her ass.

The two sit and quickly wolf down their breakfast. "Is what I wear okay, Cedric? What do you think?" Her friend looks her all over, even turns her around. The girl is wearing a nice sandy brown turtleneck sweater and some tight blue jeans that sit right at her waist and some thick soled black leather boots. A golden necklace draped around her neck with a small watch attached that sings the time in a lovely voice if opened, a thin gold ring on her right ringfinger that had once been her sisters and her earrings are sunflower shaped. The watch had been a present from Cedric for her fifteenth birthday. "You look absolutely perfect.", he smiles and Chrys grins, slightly flustered at his choice of words. "Thank you."
That year the girl had decided to bleach her hair in honor of her sister. It was now a ashy pale blond she looked absolutely beautiful sporting. Holding her friends hand and her batman themed backpack placed on her back she follows the already highly motivated Amos Diggory out of the house. "Ireland or Bulgaria, Chrys?", Cedric asks her. "Ireland all the way.", the girl says, almost offended at the question, making the older boy laugh. "Me too. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't a traitor amongst us." "I would never!" "We'll wait here for my friend and his family to arrive.", Amos announces and Chrys eyes up the tree right in front of them. "I haven't seen wild pear trees in a long time.. I really want one." "Wait here a second." Chrys leans against the tree and looks up as Cedric quickly climbs up and fades out of sight amongst the leaves.

"Arthur! You're late!", Amos announces. "Sorry Amos. A few of us overslept. Children. This is Amos Diggory. We work together at the ministry." With a thump Cedric lands on the ground. "And this good lad must be Cedric." "Yes sir. Chrys. Your pear." She smiles and takes it from his hands. "Thank you so much." She takes a bite out of it and let's him take her free hand again. "And who might this young lady be? The girlfriend?" Chrysoprase and Cedric exchange a look. "This is Chrysoprase Lapis.", Cedric introduces her to the Patron of the Weasley family without denying the dating innuendo. Immediately she picks up on her old friends in the background gaping at her and decides to just go along with her friend. "Nice to meet you again, Sir. I believe I've changed quite a lot. That and we only saw each other when I came into the ministry with my father last year." "Merlin. I really didn't recognize you at all. You are suddenly blonde?" "My sister bleached her hair so I thought I wanted to try so too. She says it suits me." The mans eyebrows crinkle as he tries to decipher what she had just said but Chrysoprase doesn't feel the need to explain herself so she simply starts walking along with Cedric. "Come on. This way.", he says and the others follow. "Can I have a bite?" She holds out the pear for him to take a nice bite and earns herself a smile. "Could have been a bit riper." "I think it's perfect like this. Not too mushy yet." Cedric shrugs. "Oh well. You don't really like sweets either so I guess this is just another part of that.." "Hey. I just don't like wizarding sweets. They are disgusting. Like.. When were those ever a good thing to eat?! Booger-, vomit-, toothpaste- and earwax taste?! What kind of a sick person wants to taste that!?!" Cedric laughs. "Maybe its a tiny bit disgusting." Throwing away the core of the pear Chrys pulls up her eyebrows. "A tiny bit?" They bicker a bit and make fun of each others eating habits but still walk even closer to one another, until Cedrics arm is simply draped around the girls waist and hers around his torso, his tall statue making it easy for her to fade from the others view in the easily six foot 'Golden boy of Hufflepuff's arms.
The two sway as if they were drunk, laughing as they do and even almost tripping, finding stability by leaning onto each other.
"Chrysoprase." The girl turns around, her amber eyes sparkling in happiness and her blonde hair perfectly dances through the air, catching the light of the rising sun so perfectly it shimmers in a golden tone. "Yes?" The twins hurry up to the duo. "We heard you were going to try out for the Hufflepuff quidditch team..", the twins chorus. The girl nods. "Ced talked me into it. I'm a pretty decent beater but I am not neccessarily a fan of physical activity. At least not when I have to do it. But we compromised that I'd be their beater this year if I don't have to do all of the warm up exercises. And here we are." "Decent? Just how decent?" "Decent enough for her to aim and hit a fly in mid flight if I'd tell her to.", Cedric grins and Chrysoprase blushes sligthly. "I'm really not THAT good." "You really are." Her face heats up even more and she lets out an uneasy laugh. "Stop. You're making me embarrassed." "Live with it, Love.", Cedric winks and Chrysoprase simply leans into her friend, hugging herself close to him and hiding away from everyone to conceal her flushed face. Physical closeness Cedric didn't mind in the slightest.
Meanwhile a group of four watches in mild jealousy. Why they were jealous.. none of them really knew.. Well... except for Ginny who, like most girls in Hogwarts, had a thing for the blonde heartthrob.
