Afterword

In case some of you noticed.. Yes.
This was supposed to turn into a Blaise Zabini fanfiction halfways.
Here is why it didn't happen:
I have built up too much of an emotional attachment between Chrysoprase and Cedric and thought it would be too much against her entire being to have her fall in love with another person after loosing Cedric.
She loves him with every fibre of her being and him dying enabled her to function until she received his portrait to stabilize her.
How would I be able to destroy such a beautiful connection between two souls forever and replace one part of it. It would have resulted in an absent relationship that would have left neither of them satisfied and breaking up.
So I brought back Cedric in a way that wouldn't intercept with the ways it was tried in 'Cursed Child' for those of you who actually accept it as canon, though I really don't want to. I simply refuse. Please just let me have that.
Why did I choose Chimaeras? Easy. Because they are my favorites. I don't know.. I just find the idea of them.. kind of cute. And I always wanted Chrysoprase to have some sort of strong connection to a creature that wasn't a badger. I thought about a bear but that wouldn't leave me with any options to revive Cedric. So I chose the Chimaeras instead, for they are directly connected to the ancient greek mythology and therefore to the ancient greek gods.
There is a story of a man loosing his wife and him striking a deal with hades that he may take her back to the world of the living if he but never looked back to her as he guided her out of the underworld. But the fool looked to see if she was still there and her soul was pulled back into the underworld, leaving the man alone again.
I adapted and changed this a bit and turned into the 'ten steps backwards' ordeal and think it to be quite a good solution.
I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did writing it.


To stay motivated and in the HP mood I read 'Harry Potter One Shots' by @ everlovingdeer and it honestly works wonders.
It is a recommendation of mine to read some good one shots of whatever universe you are trying to write a fanfic about. If you don't want to write a fanfic, maybe listen to some music that describes the mood of what you are trying to write.
