Why exactly did she have to join the Hufflepuff Quidditch team when they wouldn't be playing Quidditch at all? She herself couldn't believe her feeling of irritation so it came to no surprise that the other Quidditch players, mostly non Hufflepuffs, were loudly protesting.
A Triwizard tournament. A shiver passes down her spine. She had not ever known anyone that participated in it. Well.. Participated and lived. Great great great aunt had once upon a time participated and lost her life during their last quest. It was a test of endurance and she had to be locked inside a dark room with no windows and no wands but enough food and running water. After the third day the woman had gone mad, forgot about being able to give up and be taken out of her cell so she simply slit her own throat with a tooth she had broken out of her mouth and filed into a sharp edge against the floor and wall.
Understandably.. Chrysoprase was worried.
Especially knowing Cedric. Knowing her friends. Helga knows they were always arguing that Hufflepuff should be seen more as a force to be reckoned with. Chrysoprase forced herself to not concern her mind with the opinion of others. A relatively easy task for her since she didn't necessarily give a damn about anybody outside her social circle. Of course, if she'd see someone in need of aid she'd always help. No matter if friend or not. But it didn't mean she felt the need to let others opinions dictate her life.
She was just tired right now, wanted her schedule and then go to bed. She loved and hated train rides. The view was always beautiful. But the ride never failed to make her dog tired. Dropping her head against Cedric's shoulder she forces herself to lift her heavy lids again after blinking. "Tired, love?", the boy chuckles and she nods, stifling her yawn with her palm. He wraps his arm around her and places a kiss on her forehead. "You two are so sweet I'll get diabetes.", Eleanor announces, making the couple laugh. "Here we have your schedules. Lapis.. Are you unwell?" Sprout, head of Hufflepuff house, has leaned over to them. "Not at all, Professor. Just tired.", the girl smiles at the woman. "I am glad. You'll make sure she'll get to her dorm then?", she asks, looking at Chrysoprases friends. "Of course, Professor. I'll personally carry her.", Cedric says. "Am I sensing some romance here?" Both Cedric and Chrysoprase blush but the girl answers the question. "We are dating, Professor. If that is what you are asking." Sprout lights up with delight and congratulates the young couple, while handing out the remaining schedules. Finally they leave the great hall, Chrys catching a piggyback ride from Cedric. "Chrys? Everything alright?" The question has a lot of students suddenly falling silent. "Just tired Blaise. No worries. Ced can you set me down for a second?" He allows the girl to jump off his back and fondly watches as she goes over to the Slytherin, wrapping one arm around the side he presents to her when stretching out his arm. "Do you have Potions as your first subject tomorrow as well?", Chrys asks, stifling a yawn with her sleeve and dropping her head on his shoulder tiredly. "Yup.", Blaise answers. "Want to be partners?", they chorus, then both crack a smile. His almost unnoticeable while the one on Chrysoprases face is wide and full of positive cheer. "I'll see you at breakfast. Sleep well." "You too. Though I don't doubt you will.", Blaise tells her a bit teasingly, only earning a playful jab into his side. "Every time...", Chrys grumbles, not even remotely mad. Sliding away she jumps back onto Cedric who quickly stabilizes her. "Night, Zabini." "Diggory." Blaise nods slightly at the older Hufflepuff and Chrys waves with a tired smile as she is carried away."Merlin.. I had no idea Lapis was friends with a Slytherin.", Ron mumbles. "Shut it, Ron. You don't even know Zabini. You can't judge every Slytherin on the basis that you just don't like Malfoy.", Hermione says, jabbing her elbow in his gut. Harry shakes his head. "We should just ask her." "Oh yeah? If you haven't noticed.. She doesn't even want to glance our way. You might just be going insane if you think she'll just answer to us as if she owes an explanation.", Hermione shakes her head. The boys glance after the couple. "We can try anyway."
