The footsteps of the eleven year old Chrysoprase Lapis echo proudly through the kings cross station as she pushes her cart with her things and just calmly walks through the barrier between the muggle and wizarding world, stepping onto platform 9¾. She looks around to assess the situation and nods to herself before pushing her cart past the people there and to a staff member who loads up her trunk for her. Quickly she saves her bird from being put there, then just boards the train.
Her parents had been busy, as always since Sapphire had died, but she was almost glad they were. It saved her from immediately being recognized as the golden ticket to riches by the purebloods on the platform. And from her fussing mother clinging to her and sobbing, making her eventually miss the train.
Many had already tried to get her to marry their offspring. Malfoys, Notts, Puceys, Zabinis, Flints.... She couldn't name them all if she tried. The only ones her age were Draco Malfoy, Blaise Zabini and Theodore Nott.. But she was uninterested in them. Why would she be interested? She didn't even KNOW those boys. Chrysoprase knew.. If her parents would ask her to marry one of those.. She too would jump. Maybe it would leave a final message to them. No one wants to be sold away like cattle. If they needed it. She was almost certain that they were too traumatised to even try.
Almost.
Finding an empty compartment was ridiculously easy for the young girl. After all.. She was probably one of the first people there. Opening her birds cage she allows the owl out and onto her arm. The black majestic bird she had named Morticae hops onto her arm and she places a sweet kiss on his dark feathers before allowing him to sit on her shoulder. "How do you think we'll fare?", she asks softly and the bird caws, gently nipping on her ear. She smiles. "I think the same, Morticae." She was ready.

"Excuse me.. Can we sit here?" The train was just about to depart when the young male voice reaches her ears. She turns to face them. "Sure." Gesturing to the opposite seats still free she invites the two boys. One with dark messy hair, green eyes and round glasses that looked all sorts of banged up and the other with red fiery hair and crystalline blue eyes, looking a bit dusty. Both didn't look too well off with neither wearing clothes that truly fit. She casts another glance at them, then turns to her owl who is eyeing the snow white one the messy haired boy had carried in. "Merlin's beard! You are Harry Potter!" Her eyes flicker towards the dark haired boy. "Do you have the... You know.." "The scar? Yeah." He brushes the messy locks out of his face and reveals a lightning bolt shaped scar that still appeared to cast an angry red glare as if infected. Chrysoprase turns away. The boy was probably questioned on the daily and she didn't want to fall into that annoying category. "I'm Ron by the way. Ron Weasley. And you are?" She looks to the red haired boy. A small smile on her lips she answers. "Chrysoprase Lapis." The redhead gulps. "Your dad is my dads bosses bosses boss." "I know and in all honesty don't care for it. My dad is a professional seatwarmer and moneycounter and that's about it. Typical entitled pureblood case. You get the gist. Burying a few laws there.. A few people here... What a powerful position for such a bland man... Ridiculous."  The redhead gulps while the messy haired boy chuckles, reminded of his uncle. Just that he was an entitled muggle. "See?! He gets it. You're supposed to laugh!", Chrysoprase sighs and Ron Weasley cracks a smile.
She leans back. "Well... Talk about yourselves. I'm bored and not in the mood to use any facial muscles for the next hour or so." So the boys start talking as she watches on in comfortable silence. Her amber eyes gentle as she watches. Social interactions weren't really her thing.. She was always a bit shy and guarded, often covering it up with either sarcasm, bluntness or rudeness depending on her mood. But she liked those two boys. They were nice. "Chrysoprase?" She blinks. "Yeah?" "Want something sweet?" She glances at the witch, sweetly smiling at her. "No thank you, Ma'am. I really don't like candy that much." "Not even a pumpkin pastry?" "To be honest I can't stand pumpkins. I'm sorry." She smiles and nods. "Enjoy the rest of the ride, dear." Chrysoprase nods and waves as the witch leaves, closing the door. "You don't like sweets? Or pumpkins?" Chrysoprase glances over at the two boys. "Sweets are okay. I just don't like wizarding ones. They are always waaaay too creepy. I buy muggle ones. And pumpkins make me want to vomit.", she admits and the two laugh. "Not even some blood lollies or.." "Blood lollies. Doesn't that already sound nasty? What blood? Whose blood? That's so disgusting on so many levels. Why don't they sound more like... Apple pastry puffs or... Ice bonbons or... Anything sounding more appetizing really?!", Chrysoprase argues, throwing her hands up in annoyance. The boys laugh and she sighs. Hopeless. She reaches into her small bag that swallows her entire arm, making the boys gape. Soon she pulls out a few muggle sweets and holds them out towards the boys. "They are from the States. Don't worry. Those people have yet to learn to make things actually sour." The boys bite into their treats and their eyes light up. "That's really good." "I know. I have my parents bring me these and others every time. This is so nice. Knowing what to expect when chewing these is a blessing."
The three chuckle. "What does your name mean? I mean.. It's nice but.. So hard to pronounce and so long..." "Chrysoprase is a green stone. Sometimes used for jewelry. People of my family are traditionally named after gems, minerals or stones. As an example my fathers name is Achat and my...", she freezes for a second before continuing with a smile, "my sisters name is Sapphire. Lapis is Latin for Stone. Its honestly ridiculous how many gems or half gems or different stones there are and how many of those have already been repeat names in out family... But still.. If Chrysoprase is too hard for you to pronounce just call me Chrys."
The two boys exchange a glance before Ron's eyes light up in recognition and then his expression turns to mild pity. "I'm sorry by the way.", he mumbles. "Don't be. She was incredible and still is. She will never truly be gone." "What's that about..?" "Forget about it. Its nothing.. Nothing at all." Passing the awkwardness Ron pulls out his wand. "Want to see me make Scabbers change colour? Fred and George showed me how." Both immediately nod. Suddenly the door is slammed open.
"Has anyone here seen a toad? A boy named Neville has lost his. Oh! You are Harry Potter! I'm Hermione Granger. And.. You two are?" The bushy haired girls glance is first distasteful when looking at Ron, then neutral when looking at Chrysoprase. "I'm Ron... Ron Weasley." "Pleasure." Expectantly she looks over to Chrysoprase. "Chrysoprase Lapis." The girls eyes show a bit of worries before she turns. "I see you are practicing magic. Well... Let's see it." The three exchange a look and wait for Ron to say what already sounds like a joke meant for him to embarrass himself. Granger sticks up her nose. "Well.. That wasn't very good, was it? I myself have practiced some easier ones." She pulls out her wand pointing it at Harry's glasses. "Occulus Reparo." The boy checks them, pleased to find they are perfectly fine and no longer cracked. Chrysoprase glances at her. Silent and analysing the threat the girl poses. "You should get changed by the way. We'll arrive any minute from now. She leaves and Chrysoprase rolls her eyes. "I'll change in the bathroom. See you two later." Both boys nod, smiling again. "Oh. And Ron..." She swings her wand and his pet rats fur turns a nice Weasley ginger red. Both boys stare at her. She winks and, taking her owls cage, she walks away.
"Wicked.", Ron mumbles, looking at his ginger rat.
