Of course it had to happen. Cedric had been chosen. Chrys feigns a smile as he beams and walks towards the other champions under the cheers of their friends. She smiles while she feels like fainting. Like passing out. She reaches out and takes a hold of Estelles hand. The beaming veela turns around, expecting the blonde girl to beam back at her. Instead she looks panic stricken, a false smile on her quivering lips. Instead of questioning it, the redhead simply squeezes her hand back and pulls the girl to her in a way that would allow her to hide her face in her back as she couldn't hold back her tears back anymore, pressing the clenched hand against her stomach, soon doing the same with her other hand.

She doesn't even really register that Harry Potter joins her boyfriend and the other champions because she is desperately trying to pull herself together. Cedric was a very good wizard. An excellent one even, considering his age. But the tasks they would be forced to take were already hard for established wizards. But for students... they could be fatal. She knew better than to try and convince herself otherwise.

"Chrys isn't doing well." The words from Blaises lips are hushed to only let his friends hear it. Draco glances over at the girl clutching onto the ginger haired Beaux Baton student. If not for Blaise he wouldn't have noticed it. The almost unnoticable shiver going down her spine. She was crying." "I'll get her out of here. Cover me.", Blaise says, getting up. The others immediately follow, not questioning anything when it came to the wellbeing of their friend.
Marching over to them Blaise swiftly pulls the girl up, tucks her against his side and just a moment later gets covered by Dracos and Theos backs. Goyle slides in next to the girl and Goyle behind her, Pansy right next to him, creating a solid wall around the girl. "You're coming with us. I have some ideas to discuss with you.", Draco says loudly in his usual stoic and arrogant pitch, that only those who actually know him notice to be laced with worry. The group sets in motion and the tall half Italian feels wetness slowly seep through his shirt and on his skin. Covering her with his body he guides her steps. When they reach the stairs he tightens his grip on her waist and simply lifts her down. It's truly straining. Especially when it shouldn't look like it is.
But somehow he succeeds and soon enough they enter the Slytherin common room where quite a bunch of Slytherins are sitting around. "What are you looking at?! Piss off! NOW!", Draco barks at them. The students quickly leave for their dorms or just escape the common room.
Guiding her to the the leather seats Blaise pulls the girl into a tight hug as she cries without holding back while Theo casts a noise cancelling charm around them. They now simply listen as the girl sobs softly as their friend rubs her back. They all know why she is crying. And Merlin.. they really couldn't blame her. After a while she lifts her head. "I don't know what I'd do without you, guys. I really don't know.", she admits, before glancing at the wet patch on Blaises uniform. Wordlessly she moves her hand over it and it dries immediately, before dropping back into his arms, closing her eyes. "We don't know what we'd do without you either, you hear me?", Theo suddenly blurts out. They all look at him. Expressions of emotions didn't really suit the boy. But.. alas. He just spoke out about them. "Thanks Theo. Really." The amber eyes usually glowing with happiness are now red and puffed, but still shimmering. "Don't worry about Diggory, Chrys. He'll handle those tasks with ease." "Draco.. I love you and everything.. but don't try to talk this better. I know too well that these tasks can kill. I'll be okay. It just.. overwhelmed me there." The blond boy nods slightly. "You love me?" "You are my friend. Of course I love you, just like the rest of them." Draco cracks a smile. "Did you even hear it? Potter managed to snag himself a place in the tournament?" "Anybody could have... you know? Even a first year." "Huh?" "Simply by making an older student toss the name in there. But let's be honest. He's not smart enough for that. And he is by far way too stage shy for that. And the goblet is a very powerful magical object. It's not to be tricked by any sort of magic a bleeding fourth year like us. Somebody wants him in that tournament. And that makes the danger for Cedric even greater because honestly.. whoever it was is no friend. This game is deadly. And they know that." The group pauses for a moment but they all find themselves thinking her explanation to be perfectly plausible.
"I still want to ruin his life for a while while I have the chance to do so.", Draco grumbles. "Now that is a noble cause I can get behind. How about some badges? As a hint to whose idea they were.. After all they only lack one letter. But of course I don't know anything about this whole thing.", Chrys says with a small smile, while her friends grin. There she was. Their Badger friend with the fierce bite that could even force a lion into retreat. It was quite amazing that she had made herself a part of their lives so quickly.
