054: Homecoming

Stefan dials Klaus's number, Blake is sitting in a chair with John. Everyone else is around.

"Portland is fantastic," Klaus says into the phone, his voice enough to send a cold shiver throughout Blake's body. "Once you get over all the whiny music and healthy looking people, it is literally a breeding ground for werewolves."

"Your father is dead," Stefan says rather bluntly.

"What did you say to me?" Klaus asks in a threatening tone, one of which would have aroused Blake if she weren't with Damon.

"Oh, my mistake," Stefan claims. "Not your actual father and not dead. Mikael. Daggered. What do you want me to do with thr body?"

"Well, first, I want you to explain to me exactly what happened," Klaus instructs.

"Aye, let's say Mikael followed Elena in here," Stefan says. "He tried to grab her, so he could use her as bait."

"And you what?" Elena asks. "Vervained him?"

"No, we vervained him," Blake replies as she holds her son, John Gilbert III. "Mikael is an Original, make it realistic."

"Okay, fine," Stefan replies. "We vervained him, and in the process discovered he had a dagger."

"Which he planned to use on Rebekah," Elena says, "but instead..."

"We drove it through his heart," Stefan concludes.

"And What happens when he asks to see Mikael's body?" Elena asksn

"Good point!" Aiden replies rather loudly. "You, my brother, have been compelled to do what Klaus says. So the idea is to lure him back here and kill him... last think we need is you getting tripped up amd tongue tied."

"Well, don't look at me," Stefan says. "I am just in charge of getting him back here."

"I hate to admit it, but Klaus is smart," Blake states and the others look at her. "If we tell him that Mikael is dead, he will want proof."

"Then I shall be dead," Mikael states as he walks in; he and Blake hit it off pretty well.

"What if he wants to see you in person?" Elena asks this question.

"Well, that means our plan is working," Mikael replies. "Klaus will absolutely want to see my body. You lure him here, and I will kill him."

"With that?" Stefan asks. "Those daggers winter work on him."

"Well, I am in possession of a stake fashioned from the wood of the ancient white oak tree," Mikael replies. "The one that left these ashes when it burned."

"Where is it?" Blake asks curiously.

"Not here," Mikael replies as he dips the dagger into the white oak, Monique watches him curiously as she rubs her pregnant belly. "The knowing of its location is my insurance policy."

"Against what?" Stefan questions.

"You leaving this in my heart," Mikael replies. "You see, a vampire cAnt dagger an Original without dying. So... it all falls to you." The papa original hands the danger to the doppelgänger.

"Y...you want me to actually dagger you?" Elena asks, surprised.

"Klaus will leave nothing to chance..." Mikael replies. "Especially when it comes to trust."
