048: The End of an Affair

While John jumps in his bouncing chair, giggling and smiling, Blake pours her a drink as Aiden watches the baby with a smile. Blake is pouring herself some scotch when her cell rings. Since she left Brooklyn, people actually call her.

"You're interrupting my drink," Blake says to whoever is calling her.

"You miss me?" A familiar voice asks.

"Katherine," Blake scowls and Aiden looks her way. "Where are you?"

"Lurking outside your window, wishing I were you with Damon," Katherine claims in response.

"What do you want?" Blake asks, pushing the Damon comment to the side.

"I'm homesick," Katherine says. "What have I missed?"

"Well, Stefan is still Klaus's little prisoner and Elena thinks she can save him, and no one has thought about you since," Blake replies with ease before draining her scotch.

"And What about Aiden?" Katherine asks, Aiden rises an eyebrow - he's listening to the conversation. "I'm sure now that he's given up on his brother, he's plotting some sort of way to move in on his girlfriend."

"Aiden didn't give up on Stefan," Blake claims and Aiden smiles at her. "We just don't know where he is."

"Hmm."

"But you do," Blake claims as Aiden picks John up, who lets out a high pitched noise, making Blake flinch. "Are you trailing him?"

"A hybrid who wants me dead amd his sidekick who's off the rails?" Katherine scoffs. "I couldn't be further away."

"Which means you know exactly where they are," Aiden says, knowing Katherine can hear him. 

"All I know is that Klaus pitched a fit once his hybrids didn't work," Katherine claims. "Now he's looking for some answers."

"How do you know that?" Blake asks as Damon comes downstairs.

"Spend five hundred years running, and there will be a few people along the way that are looking out for you," Katherine puts simply.

"Is that what you're doing?" Blake asks. "Looking out for Stefan?"

"Maybe, maybe not," Katherine replies. "I'm conflicted."

"Where are they?" Aiden asks as he hands John to Blake and takes Blake's phone to talk to Katherine directly, and for Blake to listen in this time.

Aiden and Blake are going on a road trip with Elena, and are bringing John. John hasn't had a road trip yet, and Blake thinks he is ready. They're going to Chicago, Aiden convinced Kathrine to give away the details.

Aiden, Elena, Blake, and John are walking down a hallway in an apartment building, Elena is carrying John.

"Stefan could live anywhere in Chicago and he chose this?" Elena asks.

"There used to be an all-girls high school around the corner, but it shit down for attendance issues," Aiden says. "Weird."

"If you're trying to scare me into giving up amd going back, it's not going to work," Elena says.

"Shh," Aiden says and he breaks the lock to Stefan's Chicago apartment door. "Here we are. Stefan's second personality home."

They enter and have a look around the apartment.

"He obviously hasn't been here," Elena states.

"Your isn't over yet," Aiden says as Blake gets John.
