Headcanon 7

So I was watching Last Jedi last night, and this popped into my mind.

In the Last Jedi, when Rey thought Ben had turned, only for him to ask her to join him. Rey felt lost and hopeless, realising he had just been toying with her, to see how long it would take until she snaps. This guilt and the thought of failing Leia is what kept her awake for many nights to come. Ben thought she was crying for her parents, but she was crying for him. And for her own failure to bring him home.

When Ben finds this out, about a year after turning, he goes silent when Rey finishes speaking. Turning away, tears of his own make their way down his face. He whispers that he understands if she wants him to leave, and stands up. Rey hugs him tight, and tells him 'That was Kylo Ren. I love Ben Solo, which is who you really are. With or without the mask.' It is then that Ben knows he has found the one for him.
