Headcanon #21

In the Last Jedi, Ben realised he loved Rey when she called him Ben in the elevator. She was the first person to see him as he truly was, and to connect with him.

When Snoke was torturing her, he couldn't bear to look and see her in trouble. It was in that moment that he realised he just needed Rey in his life, and he could deal with anything else. That's why he made the decision to kill Snoke. Because he had hurt the girl he fell in love with, and he'll be damned if he let anyone get away with that.

That terrified look on her face when Rey had to kneel before him still haunts Ben's dreams at night, and will often wake up screaming because of it. The first time this happened at the Resistance base, Poe was the one woken up, and walked in ready for a fight, only to see the leader of the First Order rocking back and forth, sobbing, begging to an invisible person
'Please don't make me kill her. I'd rather die.'

Poe calmed Ben down, and told him to take care of Rey, before leaving. Neither of them ever mentioned it again.

That was a lot of headcanons, but I just finished watching the last jedi and my brain went into overdrive.

I haven't been updating this book much because it doesn't get as many reads or votes as my other books, so I pushed it to the side. I will start updating more often if people comment, vote, add to reading lists etc etc.
