Here's a very moldable one for you DM's that might need something that the players will keep coming back to (& or be the main focus of the players)
The idea is that the players have been chosen by whatever ruling elite there is to become the governors of a newly acquired piece of territory. The players will have to manage the newly acquired territory as trouble, & termail seem to follow it's every lead.
If this is done as a side quest, have the trouble be something quickly manage able (IE, getting rid of a crime lord, & or improving the local living situation ECT.)
If this is done as a Campaign aspect, have the players deal with a medium sized problem (food shortages, Trade embargo, none to happy magical wildlife ECT.)& or many smaller problems.
If this is done as the main campaign idea, have the players face on big issue (segregation, civil uprising, possible invasion of undead/native/demon forces, a god literally wanting to wipe the territory from them map ECT.) & have small & medium sized issues pop-up from time to time (It is recommended that the reasons for the small to medium sized problems be cause by after affects of the big issue)
