Charlotte's eyes fluttered open slowly, but she truly wasn't able to see anything yet. There was a color in front of her. Red. She opened her eyes more and tried to focus on it. Slowly the sheet of red came more into focus. There were buttons and a pocket. She scanned her eyes up slowly and was met with a few open buttons and white? No, not white. Pale. Skin? Without thinking she reached out and let her fingers travel across the patch of skin. Then they were moving lower. Back against the closed buttons. The material was smooth and soft like velvet.
Beneath it she could feel something hard and muscled. Lean. She let her finger tips graze the bottom of the shirt before she found a new patch of skin. She could barely make out the hip as she placed her hand over it. She was completely out of it, reacting only to her sense of touch. It was only when a cold hand snaked around her wrist when she shifted to move lower that she truly woke up.
"You play with a fire you are not yet ready to control, My Queen."
Her eyes darted up and ice blue met ruby red. Caius's face had a dangerous but attractive expression painted on it. His eyes dark with need and his lips curled into a fine line. She could see the physical restraint he was using in order to stay still.
"Caius?"
"If you want me to remain a gentleman, Charlotte, I beg of you to remove your lovely hand from my skin. At least until we are home. Then you may explore to your heart's content." There was a huskiness in his voice that tried to cover the way his lust seeped out.
With pink cheeks she pulled her hand away and he released her wrist. His lips formed a smirk at her flustered cheeks and he chuckled at her expression. She pouted slightly at his laughter and watched his eyes follow her lips when they moved.
"I am sorry. I wasn't thinking very clearly. I didn't mean to... Be so touchy." She started to nibble on her lip, a habit she now realized she did quite often and suspected she had learned it from Bella.
"If that was you not meaning to I am even more eager to see what you do when you do mean to touch me." Caius purred and used two fingers to tilt her head up towards him.
"It's to early for your flirting. I can't take it." She playfully whined and threw her arm up to cover her eyes.
"This is only the beginning, Angel. Wait until I have you in my own bed." She felt Caius's breath on her face as he spoke and his nose brushed against hers.
"That's it! Out of my bed! Out! I am going to die of embarrassment if you keep that up." Charlotte squeaked and tried to push Caius off of the bed.
Her blonde mate let out a laugh and she found herself enjoying the sound. She had never actually heard his laughter before or seen him so happy. She liked it. No... She loved it. While Caius laughed she admired his features. He had a strong jaw, one she imagined tracing with hef lips, and white teeth so dazzling she was sure they couldn't be real. His hair didn't seem at all out of place like she was positive hers was. In fact...
"Did you stay like that all night?"
"You looked so comfortable that I did not want to move you." He shrugged as if it was normal to lay in the same exact position for hours and hours.
"But isn't that uncomfortable for you?" Surely he hadn't enjoyed staying still that long.
"Not at all. I can stay in one position for hours, My Queen. My body does not tire." Again Caius's eyes danced with a seductive gleam and she batted at him to get out of the bed.
He chuckled and moved out of the bed so quickly that her head spun. Once he was standing she looked him over noticing that there was some... Excitement. She blushed brightly and scowled at herself for eyeing him like a piece of meat. Though it didn't appear he was at all upset about it. He just kept a smirk on his lips the entire time. Damn these Kings. They were going to be her ruin.
"I will let you get up and dressed for the day, Angel. My brothers are down stairs with Charlie preparing your breakfast." Caius slipped on his shoes and leaned down to kiss her nose.
"They are here?" She smiled at the thought of her other mates down stairs.
"They arrived a few minutes before you woke up." Caius nodded and started eyeing the door like he expected one of them to walk through.
"Why didn't they come up?"
"They had to start arrangements for the return home." Caius's eyes kept flickering from the door to her.
"When are we able to leave?" She sat up and looked down at her lap.
"Like I predicted we are able to depart this late afternoon... if you wish it." His words made her heart flutter I'm her chest.
"If... If I wish it?"
"We await your orders, Charlotte." He kneeled down on the floor next to her.
"I thought Kings didn't take orders." Charlotte raised a brow at him and found she enjoyed the sight of him on his knees.
"They don't... Unless those order come from their Queen." The seductive purr was back in his voice and she wondered just how much passion this man was capable of.
"So a Queen can tell them to do anything?" Charlotte leaned forward finding herself lost in Caius's eyes and eager for something she couldn't explain.
"A Queen could demand the moon and stars and her Kings would deliver them. She could demand a war and they would fight it. She could demand anything from them and they would willingly fall over themselves to please her. To please her in any way she so desires." He stared deep into her eyes as the words left his tongue. She felt a heat in her chest when the last sentence was spoken.
Before she could lean in any further Caius stood up and lightly rubbed his fingers over her cheeks.
"Please come join us whenever you are ready, My Queen." And he made to head for the door.
"Caius?" His name leaving her lips made him stop just as he touched the door knob.
"Yes, Charlotte?"
"I want to go home."
