"Um... Hm... Not that I can think of..." Christina answers, clearly trying to think back to a few days ago. Ever since Tobias and I were hanging out at my house, and I made him be bored somewhere else, he hasn't shown up to school, hasn't answered his phone no matter who called or texted him. It's like he just disappeared.

I sigh in defeat.

"You still haven't heard from him?" Christina asks.

"No."

"Have you tried going to his house? Maybe you, Zeke and Uri can go. I know Zeke is as desperate to see him as you are."

"I've tried once, and there was no answer. The lights were off and everything."

"Try again today after school. Maybe they were just gone during that time."

"If they were 'just gone' as you said, why hasn't he been replying to any of my calls or messages?"

Christina threw her hands up in the air as she spoke. "Maybe his phone died and he can't find the charger- I don't know! Just go see later! Or don't, for all I care!"

"Okay, fine! I will."

Dingg-donggg

The sound of the Eaton's house' doorbell echos through the still silence. Zeke stands next to me and taps his foot impatiently, Uriah chews his cheek, and I play with my fingers, scraping out whatever is underneath the nails. We stand there for about two minutes until Zeke pounds on the door, saying "Four, dude, come on! It's Zeke, Tris, and Uriah, open up!" I stand on my tip-toes, and lean over towards Uriah, trying to see through the window curtains.

We wait for another two minutes, until I decide it's hopeless.

"Come on guys, let's go. They're not gonna answer. It's pointless just to stand here." I grab Uriah's arm and drag him to the car, with Zeke following behind.

Zeke and Uriah drive me home. The whole car ride is silent, I just look out the window the whole time, checking my phone for message every minute. Nothing.

-(Tobias' POV)-

I can't move.

I can't feel anything.

I can't see anything.

I'm surrounded by dark.

I try to hear something, anything, that could help me figure out where I am, and what's going on.

I can't hear anything.

Am I blind?

Did I go deaf?

What's happening?

All these thoughts and questions are piling up in my brain.

I'm lost in thought until I hear heavy footsteps coming my way.

"He's waking up." A deep voice says.

"Go ahead," another voice replies. Go ahead? What does tha-

BAM.

Something hits my head and my mind goes blank.
