The feather pillow and soft bed felt comfortable as it supported The girl's body. That is, until she felt the mattress sink down as someone threw themselves onto the bed. Or more accurately, on top of Adrienne.

She immediately woke up, trying to wake up her tired arms and push the mass off of her. "Finnick." She groaned, unamused by the boy's playfulness. Especially this early in the morning. "Get the hell off of me."

The blonde boy just lifted his head up, smirking teasingly, as he looked at the tired girl. "I told you I would get you."

"It's too early for this, Finn." She groaned again, her voice croaky from just waking up.

The boy just hugged out a breath, the warm air sending chills across where it brushed against the girl's cheeks. "You're no fun." Finnick mumbled, pouting like a little kid. "Why are you so boring?"

"Why are you so annoying?" Adrienne said, pushing him again, the boy finally giving in and rolling onto the bed next to her with an amused chuckle.

The blonde girl sat up slowly, leaning against the headboard as she slowly rubbed the sleep from her eyes, yawning in the process. She noticed the odd silence in the room and when she looked over at her mentor, she noticed he was looking at a picture on her bedside table.

It was one of Adrienne with her brothers, taken just a few weeks before the Reaping; the photo was one of the last things she had of her home.

"Your siblings?" He asked, his tone changing from playful to one of seriousness and curiosity. Adrienne could see much more in his eyes, however; there was a sorrowful gleam in the blue ocean.

Adrienne nodded slowly. "Yeah. My brothers."

The corner of Finnick's mouth twitched you slightly as he looked at the picture. "You look happy."

She sighed softly, looking down at her fingers that were intertwined in her lap. "I was..."

"What changed?" The boy asked, his voice soft as to not set the girl off.

"I got Reaped. Now, I'm not sure if I'll ever even see them again." Adrienne could feel the warm tears rolling down her cheeks, but she ignored them as she tilted her head down.

It wasn't long after that she felt the bed shift slightly and a hand was placed on top of her shoulder. Lifting her head, she saw Finnick looking at her with something new in his blue eyes; determination. And hope.

"Hey," He said softly, moving his hand so it was placed on her cheek, using his thumb to wipe away the stray tears. "You will see them again. You will."

Adrienne shook her head, more tears falling. "I won't, Finn. I'm not strong. I'm not skilled in combat like the careers. I'll be dead before the second day."

Finnick shook his head. "I don't think you will be. You are strong, Addy, whether you see that potential in yourself of not. But you know what? I see it. I see this amazing girl who had so much to fight for." The mentor lowered his voice, as if his next words were meant for only the girl to hear. "So fight. Fight until there is no one left. Fight until you win."

The blonde girl allowed a small smile to creep up onto her face, her cheeks slightly tilted pink at how close Finnick now was to her. "Thank you."

The victor smile back, glad to see that he was at least able to cheer up the girl. For now, that is. "Anytime, girly."
