Chapter 10

You left your room soon after Ink, barely just catching him slinking into his own room with a blank look. You tilted your head at the odd sight before shrugging it off and heading outside, deciding to get some fresh air after your admittedly hectic morning.

You saw Dream and Blue talking to each other underneath the apple tree and grinned as you went up to join them. You greeted them as you made your way to the top of the hill and they immediately said hello back, wearing equally as bright smiles.

"(y/n)! It's so nice to see you!" Blue announced as he came over to meet you, taking your hands into his. You smiled softly at him - you had always loved his childish sense of wonder. His eye lights shimmered as he looked at you. For some unknown reason, your face began to heat up and you looked down as a weird feeling overcame you.

"We talked only an hour ago Berry," you told him making him nod in affirmation.

"I know! It's been so long since you've been graced with the presence of the Magnificent Sans!" You snickered at this. He was just too sweet. You let him lead you the rest of the way up the hill, where Dream was waiting with a patient smile. You sat either side of the positive skeleton - Blue on his right and you on his left. "Dream was just telling me about a story he read."

"Really? What was it about?" you asked turning towards to Dream, whose smile brightened upon receiving your attention.

"It was a fairytale book called Beauty and the Beast," he replied making you smile. You had always loved that story, ever since you were a kid! (a/n: if you don't like the story, I apologize but it goes with later events in this story. Y'know, with the boys crushin' on you and all)

"Ooh, I love that story! Whaddya think of it?" you asked your interest now piqued. Dream chuckled at your excited tone and began an almost overly passionate conversation with you about what he liked and disliked about the book.

Blue sat to the side, watching the two of you talk. He loved seeing you smile and be so engaged but wished it could've been him who brought it about. Knowing that it was Dream who was making you so happy left a bitter taste in his mouth. That damn skeleton with his stupid 'positive aura'. Hah! That was probably the only reason you were smiling around him! It had nothing to do with him, it was his aura that was making you smile. Wait... why was he thinking like that? Dream was one of his best friends; how could he think such heartless things?! Blue placed a hand over his chest, taking in a deep breath to try and calm his nerves. That... wasn't him. That can't have been him. He wouldn't say things like that!

"Blueberry? Is everything okay?" he heard someone call out and jumped as a hand was placed on his shoulder. He flicked his eyes up to meet yours and his breath caught in his throat. "Are you feeling alright, Blue? You look pale," you questioned again, growing steadily concerned for your friend. Dream was standing not-too-far behind you, his expression sullen.

'Does he know what I was thinking about?'"I-I'm fine (y/n), really," Blue assured you making you smile and nod before releasing him and beginning to walk back towards the castle. Dream shot Blue a dirty look before following you, wrapping his arms around himself.

Blue frowned, feeling guilty. It wasn't his fault he wanted to make you happy! Why was that so wrong all of a sudden?! He stood up and followed the two of you back, sighing heavily.

The boys had seemed to be avoiding each other all day. Ink hadn't come out of his room since your talk, Dream had started dodging Blue and Blue... just seemed to be ignoring the world. You watched it all unfold with a frown, not knowing what on Earth was happening between the trio. It was almost as if a hatred had taken root. You eventually decided enough was enough and went to sort things out between them on your own...
