You sighed in complete contentment, rolling onto your side on the bed. You tucked your hands under your head and grasped the soft material of the pillow underneath it as you gaze out the window to see the stars. You realised that you never really took the time to appreciate the stars until now. They reminded you of your childhood – at least the very early days of it. Ages two to three. Before... Well, you didn't want to think about that.

You shifted yourself into a comfortable position before getting ready to go to sleep, pulling the (f/c) covers up over your body. You closed your eyes as you let the peace and quiet of the night drift you off to sleep.

You woke up in the morning with a slight jump, having to recollect your scrambled thoughts to remember where you were. You reluctantly slipped out of your warm bed and put on some simple slip-on shoes, exiting your room and walking to the main hall. From there you carried on walking, going into a separate hallway that branched off into a kitchen. You gasped a little from shock as Dream snapped up at your arrival.

Morning (y/n)!" He greeted with a peppy expression. You gave a light smile in return and rubbed at your eyes.

"Morning," You replied as you grabbed the kettle that was seated next to him and pouring yourself a cup of (coffee/tea). You picked up the cup and sat down at the table, looking out the window to see a tree planted there with a birds nest in it's branches. It made you smile slightly.

You took a sip of your (c/t) and sighed as you felt it start to warm you up. Dream chuckled slightly and you turned towards him with a quizzical expression.

"What are you giggling at Sunshine?" You questioned making him chuckle again.

"I'm just surprised to see you up so early; you would always be such a Night Owl!" You rolled your eyes at his teasing tone but laughed lightly yourself as a small smirk spread across his face.

He turned back towards the sink and started cleaning the cup he had used for his drink, his positive aura differing slightly. You quirked an eyebrow at this and your confusion quickly became concern as he walked out of the kitchen with a solemn expression.

You stood up, having finished your drink, and placed the empty cup by the kitchen sink. You quickly walked down the hallway just in time to catch Dream going into his room and slamming the door shut. You blinked, dropping the hand you had extended to grab his attention and sighed.

'I'll have to ask him what's wrong later on...'

You rubbed your upper arm, looking around with a new sense of guilt. You missed too much. Something happened while you were gone and now you can't do anything to fix it. You drop your hand back down and thought:

'What have I missed?''
