"Uh... Blue, are you 100% sure this is a good idea?" you asked nervously, watching as the small skeleton practiced his magic attacks in the field. You were standing at a relatively safe distance, yet you still couldn't help but feel a bit cautious as Blue got more excited.

"Of course (y/n)! Everyone knows the outside is the most effective place to train!" Blue declared placing his hands on his hips confidently. "Also the fact that Dream shouted at me the last time I tried to train inside..."

You blanched at his less-than-reassuring words but continued to smile as to not discourage him. You did take a couple more steps back though. You trusted Blue... but you didn't trust his magic; you knew how strong that skeleton was - he may be small, but he packed a punch!

"Hey Blueberry?" you said after watching him for a few more minutes. The addressed skeleton dispersed his attacks and turned to face you with a questioning look. You gave him a gentle smile before walking over to him. "Do you think you could teach me?"

"Huh, teach you?" Blue echoed titling his skull to the side. "Why would you want me to do that?"

You let out a sigh at his questioning, rubbing your arm as you gave him a defeated look.

"It's just... watching you just now... I wanna be able to defend myself like you can. I don't want to constantly play the role of the damsel in distress, y'know? I want to be able to protect myself against any future threats, and you guys too! I want to be able to keep you all safe as you do with me," you said feeling a newfound determination begin to spark within you. He blinked back at you before grinning, a light blush dusting his cheekbones.

"Aw sweetie! Of course I'll train you. The magnificent Sans is the best teacher in the whole Multiverse!" Blue said proudly, thumping a fist against his chest. You giggled at his actions but stopped as he took ahold of one of your hands. "And don't you worry. I'll never get tired of protecting you, (y/n). That's a promise," he said softly, pulling on your hand to make you bend down. He placed a quick kiss on your cheek making you blush once he released you.

"Blue, I..."

"Well, let's get started shall we? The magnificent Sans and the incredible (y/n) - the Multiverse's best warriors! Mweheheh!"

You couldn't help but smile as Blue scampered off to prepare for your training session, your cheeks still burning from his spontaneous kiss. You gingerly lifted a hand up to your cheek as your smile widened. But it soon fell once you remembered the meaning behind it.

'The guys all like me. It's going to start a fight if I don't do something soon... I-I don't want them to hurt themselves over me. I've got to stop this, one way or another.' You sighed at that thought and began to slowly follow Blueberry, your SOUL suddenly feeling heavy.

...

"Mmm, that was good. Your stance needs a little more work," Blue said coming to your side after your fifth attempt. He was currently trying to teach you to sword fight... emphasis on trying.

"I don't know Blue, maybe this was a bad idea." You looked down, about ready to give up. Blue gasped dramatically, clasping your face in his hands as he looked at you with an offended expression.

"NONE of your ideas are bad ones! Don't doubt yourself sweetie, I know you can do it! I believe in you!" Blue said supportively, his eye lights flashing to stars as a small smile came onto your face. "No giving up yet, okay?" he said in a much softer voice, releasing you once you nodded.

"Alright, let's do this... sixth time's the charm." You laughed, straightening your posture and moving into the starting stance.

"That's the spirit sweetie!" Blue cheered raising your confidence as he started to talk you through the steps once more. He stopped you one or two times to correct your footing or your hold on the blade but other than that it seemed as if you were finally on the right track.

You soon managed to get the hang of it and smiled wide as Blue praised you from the sidelines, energetically spurring you on. You swore you heard him let out a fangirl-esque squeal at one point.

It was only when he proposed that the two of you spar that your confidence fell once more.

"S-Spar? As in, fight each other," you said worriedly, biting your lip as Blue nodded.

"Sparring is one of the best ways to assure that you can use your weapon in an actual battle!" Blue said, obviously trying to encourage you to agree with him. But you stayed wary not feeling as open to the idea as he was.

"I don't know Blue. What if I hurt you?" you said blinking as Blue laughed at your concern.

"You won't be able to hit me (y/n). You're a beginner; I've been doing this kind of stuff for years!" Blue boasted puffing his chest out as you frowned. You had to admit his words stung a bit so you huffed as you begrudgingly picked up your sword.

"Fine."

You ignored the confused look Blue shot you and lowered yourself into a fighting stance.

"Let's just get this over with."

"(y/n), did I upset yo-"

Blue wasn't able to finish his question as you lunged forward. He was barely able to dodge, quickly rolling out of the way. You skidded to a halt, staying on your feet as you turned to face him. He stood up with a competitive grin, summoning a few of his magic attacks.

"So that's how you want to play it, huh?" he asked teasingly before sending the bones towards you. You dodged most of them and cut the remainders with your sword, with one of the splinters grazing your cheek. Blue stared on in awe as you smirked. "Not bad, rookie."

You snorted at his mock and went for him again, putting all of your spirit into the fight. You began to feel a strange warmth flowing from your SOUL to your arms but you simply ignored it as the spar continued.

"What you got besides bones?" you teased as you managed to pin Blue to the wall of the castle. He grinned mischievously before his left eye lit up. You gasped as he turned your SOUL blue and launched you backwards. You landed roughly on the floor, groaning from the impact.

Slowly pushing yourself back up, you glowered at the small skeleton as he laughed.

"That was foul play Blueberry!" you scolded, letting out a quiet growl as he shot you a playful wink. "Don't get too cocky," you muttered under your breath, tightening your grip on the blade.

You waited for him to run to you before ducking and swinging yourself round to kick him in the back. You sent him to the ground and proudly pointed the sword to his neck making him gaze up at you in shock.

"I win," you said simply, panting a bit from exertion. Blueberry's eye sockets widened before he grinned, quickly jumping to his feet and enveloping you in a tight embrace.

"That was amazing (y/n)! You were incredible; I totally underestimated you! I just... I'm speechless!" he rambled making you blush as he showered you with compliments.

"Well, I had the best teacher in the Multiverse," you said as you pulled away, cupping his chin and tilting his skull up. "Thanks for everything Blueberry, I had a lot of fun." You softly kissed his nasal bridge before releasing him and walking back into the castle, leaving Blue a stuttering blushing mess.

...

'Why won't this leeeavvve?!'

You groaned as you threw yourself back onto your bed, covering your face with the pillow. The warmth that you were feeling in your SOUL was still there, making it difficult for you to find peace. It was pulsing throughout your body. It felt powerful, yet restricted. Like it was something you had, but didn't know how to handle. It felt like being enwrapped in a protective hold, yet whoever was holding you refused to let go. Loving... but in the wrong way.

'What's going on, what is this?'

And that's a wrap! (y/n)-chan is beginning to learn to fight - exciting huh? I'm sure those skills totally won't backfire in the future and lead to more trouble *cough 'am I being foreshadowy enough?' cough*
Anywho, do you guys have any guesses to what's going on with our poor protagonist? Stay tuned to find out ;P Until next time my dears! - Fandom Trash
