Nightmare explained his plan to you and you eagerly nodded in agreement. He gave you an approving smile and patted your shoulder before leaving the library to go get the others. He stopped by the door and turned around to give you one last look.

"Make him happy for me."

You smiled sadly as Nightmare left the room, sitting down to await the trio.

It thankfully didn't take too long and they all stood in front of you with curious expressions.

"(y/n), Nightmare said you had something to talk to us about?" Ink said and you nodded, clearing your throat before you began talking.

"Actually, I only wanted to talk with two of you." You looked over at Dream, "Dream, could you give me a few minutes with Blue and Ink please?"

The three looked between each other, surprised at your sudden statement but Dream reluctantly agreed, nodding his head and leaving the library. You couldn't help but feel slightly guilty as you saw the crushed look on his face - he must've thought you were rejecting him...

You took in a deep breath before standing up, fixing the two remaining skeletons with a calm gaze.

"I wanted to let the both of you know how much I care about you. You've all shown me so much love and kindness since the day we met." You looked into each of their eye lights to assure you had their full attention. "Blueberry, you are the sweetest, most adorable skeleton I have ever met! I always love the time we spend together; I love training with you. You have great potential Blue, never change." You saw their faces fall as they realized what was happening but stayed quiet and respected your decision. This put a small smile on your face as you turned to Ink. "Ink, you are such a hard worker and I love seeing all of your artwork. Even with a scatterbrain like yours, you remember things about me that sometimes even I forget! I can admire that. Just... don't work yourself too hard."

You brought the two of them into a hug after you had finished talking, pulling back to officially tell them your final decision.

"I'm in love with Dream, and I'm gonna tell him."

You walked outside, having an idea where Dream was. Making your way into the secret field you had found together, you were overjoyed to find the golden skeleton sitting amongst the flowers. You quickly made your way to his side and sat down, seeing him tense up.

"Hi Dream," you said softly, turning to face him as he looked at you. A smile crossed his face as you gave him your full attention. "What'cha doing?"

"Nothing much, just... enjoying the peace and quiet," he said plucking a few flowers from the earth and beginning to weave them into a flower crown. You hummed in acknowledgment and shuffled closer to him to rest your head on his bony shoulder. He stiffened up at first but soon relaxed into the position, his smile widening as he simply enjoyed your presence.

"Do you wanna do something tonight?" you spoke up, looking up at him curiously as he finished the flower crown he was working on. He gave you a shocked stare before blushing and nodding, placing the crown on your head.

"Yes! Of course."

"Great, meet me at the Tree of Feelings at seven?"

"Sure, I'll be there."

"It's a date!" you confirmed happily, pushing yourself back up to your feet, quickly pecking his cheekbone and scurrying off to prepare your surprise. Just missing Dream's face exploding into a bright yellow blush as he cheered excitedly.

...

7 P.M. came quicker than expected and you were just about able to put the finishing touches on your arrangement when Dream showed up. He opened his mouth to greet you but was quickly caught off guard by what you were wearing. You giggled, looking down at the sunset yellow dress you had on. The top of the dress was embedded with silver beading that extended down the thin and silky skirt, rounding back up to a pale orange bow at the back, a glistening sunstone in the middle of the peach ribbon. The flower crown he had made for you that afternoon was still present on your head, resting neatly on your (h/c) locks.

Dream blushed as his eye lights scanned you, glowing brighter as you came towards him. You extended a hand out to him, which he slowly took, still gazing at you in awe. You led him to the other side of the hill to reveal a picnic blanket, decorated with roses petals and both of your favorite foods.

"Oh (y/n)..." Dream said, eye lights shining as he squeezed your hand. You smiled proudly, leading him down to the blanket and gently pulling him down into a sitting position with you.

"Not bad for a first date, huh?" you said smugly, smirking as he rolled his eye lights.

"You're adorable," he said flicking you on the nose lightly before picking up some of the food to start eating.

You laughed at his actions, quickly joining in on eating the food - the two of you falling into a comfortable silence.

It didn't take long for the two of you to finish and now you were lying peacefully on the blanket, you with your arms wrapped around Dream's middle as you watched the stars.

"This was actually fun, can we do it again?" Dream said after a while and you simply laughed in reply and snuggled closer to him.

"Sure, if you agree to be my boyfriend~" you said slyly, propping yourself up so your hands were on either side of us skull, your faces barely inches apart. Dream blushed beneath you, eye lights flashing to stars as he grinned.

"Of course!"

You smiled at his response, wasting no time in leaning down and closing the gap between the two of you. Dream instantly melted into the kiss, practically becoming butter in your hands as his arms wrapped around your neck to pull you in closer. You unfortunately had to pull back to catch your breath but were quickly dragged back into the kiss by Dream once you had. The two of you continued this cycle for several minutes before you realized just how drained you felt. One look at the skeleton underneath you told you that he was feeling the same way.

You stood up and offered him your hand, helping him to his feet.

"Maybe we should get back to the castle now," you said trying to stifle a yawn. Dream caught onto this and smiled warmly, wrapping his arms around you to bring you up into his arms bridal style. You blushed at the slightly awkward position but soon relaxed as Dream started to walk back towards the castle.

You felt yourself begin to drift off in his arms and subconsciously cuddled in closer to him as you closed your eyes. You heard him let out a near silent chuckle, one of his hands stroking your head to lull you to sleep.

"Sweet dreams, my princess~"
