Thirty-Six

After a lot of convincing Jay reluctantly took my to my dad, we had to be sneaky and extremely quiet about it

We stayed crouched and hidden behind boxes, trees, trucks anything we could hide behind to stay hidden

Our main advantage to not get caught is Jay is still part of this whole thing so he knows we're everyone is positioned

Jay snuck up behind the guy who was guarding the door and knocked him out. When we got inside I immediately ran up to my dad and tried to wake him up. "Dad, it's Maya" I spoke softly and quietly

He was completely unconscious, there's no way I can wake him and even if I could he looks too injured to move.

For years I've thought he died, I thought he was killed but really he was in the same place as me being tortured for information

I should of known, I should of helped.

"I'll be back" it's not like he can hear me but I need to let him know anyway incase he can

I stood up and turned to Jay "Okay let's do this"

He shook his head "No, no way Hunter"

I folded my arms "Safety in numbers, you're insanely dumb if you think I'm letting you do this alone"

He smirked "And you're insanely dumb if you think I'm letting you come with me"

Clearly this conversation is going nowhere "I will stay out of the way I'll just help if you look like you need it"

I raised my eyebrow and he sighed "If we're doing this we better hurry up" I didn't wait for him to answer I just headed for the door

"Ace wait" I stopped and turned and walked back up to him

"If you're insisting on doing this" He bent down to a chest that was in the corner of the room and turned around with my two daggers

I took them off him and put one in my back pocket and one in my boot so it was more hidden incase I do get caught

"And here" he stood back up and held a gun out to me

I shook my head "If I need one I'll take one"

I took a deep breath and turned around to my dad one more time

Jay PoV

"I'm sorry" I apologised quietly and as she went to turn around I hit her on her head with the bottom of the gun and she fell to the floor unconscious

I grabbed her before she hit the floor and I gently placed her down and I brushed her hair out of her face

"I'm sorry Ace, I don't want you to see what I have to do" I kissed her on her forehead and stood up to leave

As I opened the door Markus was stood right there "Woods, you left your post and a few of my guys were unconscious do you know anything about that?"

He asked and I moved so I was stood in front of Maya hoping he couldn't see her

"What are you doing in here?" He pushed me out of the way and crouched down next to Maya

"Take her" he ordered one of his other guys picked her up while another held me back

I tried to get out his grasp "She doesn't know anything"

Markus slowly walked over to me "Let's hope for your sake she does know something" He punched me across the face and everything went black

I slowly regained consciousness and took in my surroundings, I'm in a different place, restrained

But one good thing is Maya was opposite me completely unharmed

"Jay?" She said softly

"You knocked me out" she glared at me and then realised she was tied up and this wasn't my doing

"We got caught" I just nodded in response and then the door opened and Markus walked in with two other guys

"You're both awake, wonderful" He went over to Maya and crouched in front of her

"You son of a bitch if you hurt her I swear I'll kill you" I tried my hardest to get out of the restraints but it was no good

"From our last time together I realised something" he stood up and walked over to me

"You see Hunter doesn't care how much she's hurt she doesn't even care if she dies but you, she cares about you" Markus nodded at one of the guys and then the guy he nodded at left

"I'm sorry but your plan sucks, she doesn't care about me not anymore" Maya looked at me tearfully but she didn't say anything, I know it's true she doesn't care not anymore

The guy who was sent out came back in and walked over to me with a bag in his hand

"Lets put my assumption to the test" Markus opened the bag

He stood up towering over to me, all he did was punch me at but I know I'm not getting out of this alive
