You and Me

Chapter Five

I climbed up the ladder and sat next to Riley, they were both just looking at me

"What?" I said getting aggravated that neither of them were saying anything

I know I told them not too but them being quiet is even more annoying

"Are you going to talk to us about whatever is clearly going on-" Riley started talking

"Or are we just going to sit here?" And Farkle finished her sentence, cute they finish each other's sentences.

It was really like these two were psychically linked

"Nope nothings going on, he's just a nice guy" I grabbed Riley's laptop from next to me and placed it on my lap

"So what movie are we watching?" I asked changing the subject

He is just a nice guy, a really hot nice guy who is funny too but he's my camp counsellor and for all I know he could secretly be horrible or dating somebody or ooh he could be leading this whole double life! Now that would be interesting.

But seriously I don't know anything about him and even if I did it wouldn't matter, nothing can happen or he would be fired and now I'm overthinking everything again

I need to just get him out of my head, that probably won't work though so easier solution I just need to get all none friendship feelings out of my head it's strictly platonic

Or a more likely scenario is I'll just have to lock my feelings away in a little box in my brain, along side my ballerina dreams and family issues

"So have you picked a movie" I asked again and I think they could tell I didn't want to talk about it since neither of them brought him up again

We just watched a few movies and Farkle and Riley started to fall asleep so I moved the laptop carefully from Riley's lap and climbed back down off the ladder so they could both sleep comfortably. I doubt she would mind if I slept on the bottom bunk instead of Farkle

After I got changed into my pyjamas in our bathroom I put my earphones in and lay down on my bed, I wasn't that tired and I always have had trouble falling asleep especially recently so I'm probably going to be awake for a few more hours

I decided to go for a walk since I have just been lying in bed listening to music for about an hour at this point just tossing and turning

I put on a hoodie and slipped on my trainers so I had something on my feet that was easy to take on and off and then as quietly as I could I left the cabin, bringing the key this time just incase.

I was just walking and following the path, the path went past Lucas's cabin so I slightly cut away and walked through the woods beside the cabin

As I was walking past I saw Lucas stood outside his place with some girl, I know she worked here too but she wasn't one of the cabin leaders, she had medium length strawberry blonde hair and she was so pretty.

I bet they were dating, I'm not surprised somebody as attractive and nice as him would not be single.

I didn't want to be creepy and stand in the woods watching them so I turned to keep walking away, I don't really know why but hearing them both laughing together and just standing together causes a pain in my heart but it does.

I never realised you could gain feelings for somebody after only knowing them for a short amount of time

I turned back looking over my shoulder and realised they had both gone inside his cabin, yep they were most likely dating.

After walking for a little longer I came across this campfire, I'm guessing this is the area Riley mentioned to me before

The fire was kinda dying out so I just threw a little log on top to keep it going a little longer

It was so beautiful here, I sat on the log seats they had. It was just logs but they were kinda like seats placed around the campfire

It really was beautiful, the stars and moon illuminated the sky casting shadows from the trees across the grass. The flames danced around the logs warming up my surroundings as I sat here.

I could stay here for hours. I have always loved looking at the stars or the moon, I'm not sure why it's just something that's always made me in a happy mood and relaxed.

I stayed out here for a few more hours and I took some pictures so I could use them for a reference later and draw what I saw tonight

It was getting really late and the fire was dying out so I decided to just go back.

When I got back to my cabin Riley and Farkle were both lying down now and Riley has her head rested on Farkles chest. They were cute together even if they both denied it.

I grabbed a blanket we had in the cabin and put it over them since they were over the covers and I didn't want them to be cold. Then I took my shoes and hoodie off and I got in bed, hopefully I'll be able to sleep now.
