Chaper Fourteen

"Peachesss!" As soon as I stepped into the cabin Riley tightly hugged me

"Hi Riles" I laughed slightly and hugged her back

"I was only gone for about 2 hours why did everyone freak out?" I said as we went to sit down on Riley's bed

"We care about you" I softly smiled

"Well thanks but next time if I leave don't get a search party until I'm gone for at least most of the day okay?" I joked about what happened, if I knew they were going to react so badly I would of told riles I was leaving

"Okay deal" she joked back

A few hours later ...

Riley was fast asleep but I couldn't sleep again so I decided to go back to the campfire I was at a few weeks ago it was so peaceful on a night

I went out the back so I didn't get caught since it was after the cabin curfew and started walking there

As I got closer I could hear music and somebody singing "My heart has a little crush on you, so immature but these butterflies they keep me laughing" whoever it was then stopped strumming

I walked closer still trying to be quiet and saw huckleberry, he could sing too!

What can't he do?

I just stood there watching, not in a creepy way I just wanted to listen to him sing a little more

Also what was he singing about? A crush? On who?!

I could see him writing the lyrics down and he started strumming again "my heart has a little song for you, so won't you take a listen and dance with me to the rhythm"

He stopped again "That was really good." I said before I could stop myself

He jumped slightly "God! You scared me" he said and I laughed walking closer

"Sorry I'll just go" I looked down at the ground, I realised he probably came out here so he wasn't disrupted

"No no, you can stay" he moved over and made room on the log so I could sit next to him

"Can't sleep either?" I shook my head and sat next to him

"No.." I said rubbing my arms, why did I always forget a jacket when it was cold

Lucas placed the guitar down and started taking off his jacket, he wrapped it over my shoulders and I put it on properly myself "Thanks" I said quietly

"So what was that I just heard?" He turned his face away but I'm sure I caught him blushing slightly

"I was just playing around" huckleberry has got a hidden crush and I want to know who it is

"Can you play me something?" I asked and he turned more on his side facing me better

"Any suggestions?" I shook my head and he started strumming looking down at the guitar

I loved his voice it was so beautiful, you could hear that the lyrics meant something to him and he played with so much passion

Wait what ?
What was he singing about? And to me?
Did he see me differently?

And I can't believe my eyes

What is this camp rock ?!
Now I'm making jokes in my own head

He looked up at me as he was playing and singing I didn't say anything I just listened to what he had to say

"Oh no, now you're too good to be all mine
Now I'm looking in your eyes

He stopped playing and placed the guitar beside him before turning back to face me

What was he saying?
Was I reading too much into this? It's just a song right?

We sat there for a moment just looking at each other

"I heard you can sing?" He said breaking the silence

"I can warble a tune" I joked smiling slightly but my mind was still racing, overthinking what that song meant

"Do you want to sing something with me?" I didn't know what to say I've never sang in front of somebody before except maybe my mom but she lives with me I can't help it if she hears me sing

"I don't know Huckleberry" I bit my lip nervously

"It's just me, I won't judge" I sighed and moved a little closer

"Okay fine... how about the song Love me like you do?" He looked a bit taken back by my song suggestion but he got up the chords on his phone and started playing

As we sang out voices harmonised perfectly together, it was just a perfect moment

I started singing quieter, not intentionally I just cant think straight

Lucas started strumming slower too, I can feel my heart beating faster and faster. I want to kiss him but I know I can't

"Kiss me like you do, ki-ki-kiss me like you do
What are you waiting for"

Lucas stopped strumming the guitar and he stopped singing, does he feel the same way I do?

"What are you waiting for?" I said still singing slightly but now it was mostly a real question

"Can I try something?" I let out a nervous shaky breath as he leaned in closer

"What?" I kept my eyes on his trying to figure out what he was thinking,

I thought he was going to kiss me a few weeks ago at the beach but he didn't so maybe I'm just reading into things now too

He placed one hand on my cheek "L-Lucas?"

Was this it?

Was he finally going to kiss me?

Lucas leaned in closer and I did too, his lips softly brushed against mine and I was about to kiss him

"I hate to break up the happy couple" I heard a voice to the side of us and knew we had been caught and I didn't even get to kiss him
