The Stars Don't Hold Our Fate (Jotaro x Reader x Kakyoin)

14: The Trickster & The Tower

Trickster: A character that exhibits a great degree of intellect or secret knowledge, and uses it to play tricks or otherwise disobey normal rules and conventional behavior. A trickster is a master of deceiving others, giving them the upper hand in most situations. If seriously provoked, letting your guard down or underestimating them, is your worst and last mistake.

You look up at the sky and take a deep breath.

"I'm coming for you."

"Y/n, I'll always be with you. Remember that. I trust that you'll come back to save me with the crusaders... I'll miss you. Whenever you need guidance, look up at the sky and know that I'm always thinking of you. The stars don't control your fate, you do. Believe in yourself and never lose hope..."

B/f...

You watch the clouds slowly moving in the sky. You were exactly where you needed to be in this exact moment, and you silently thank B/f for everything she's done for you.

"Just wait a little longer. I will come. I promise..."

You let out a sigh of accomplishment and walk over to where Kakyoin and Jotaro were standing. You notice out of the corner of your eye, that they had both been watching you.

'Weird. Why were they looking at me? Do I suddenly have a shaved head and a weird tattoo on the back of it? That's the only plausible reason that comes to mind.'

You stand beside them while looking at the floor and playing with your fingers. As if saving you from your own awkwardness, Avdol walks up to you Kakyoin and Jotaro standing to the side of the gate.

'Joseph must be explaining everything to the team taking care of Holly.'

"Jotaro, you don't have a name for your stand yet, correct?"

"No."

"Well, as a fortune teller by trade, let me name your stand. Choose a card from this deck, and it shall suggest your power and decide your destiny," Avdol says while holding out his deck of cards.

Jotaro chooses a card, and it's revealed to be the star card. Of course, you already knew this, so you turn away and look up at the sky once more watching the clouds move along slowly.

"Y/n," Avdol calls you. You look at him and he steps closer. "Do you not have a name for you stand either?"

'How did he know?'  You shake your head, letting him know that you don't.

"Hmmm, I see. I don't have any more cards available that can be used to name your stand." He thinks for a second and speaks up, "If you show me your palm, I can read your hand, and I can name your stand based on that."

You reluctantly give him your hand. You didn't know exactly what he was going to read, but you hope he didn't find out or read too deep into your past. He takes your hand in his, and he traces his finger along the lines engraved on your palm. It tickles a bit and you bite your lip to hold on your giggles. His gaze slowly shifts from your palm to your eyes. It looks like he found something. He squints his eyes a bit with a knowing look.

"Quite the interesting one you are. You told me yesterday that you were just an ordinary girl...you deceived me. You have the spirit and energy of a bigger than life character. I have never seen one in person in all my years of living. You seem to have quite a lot hidden behind those eyes, many secrets left untold.... a true master of knowledge. But I'd expect nothing less from a mighty trickster."

You stare back at him, you don't know what to say to this. You had heard stories and folktales of the ones they call tricksters. But you? A trickster? It did make sense in an odd way. You had many many things hidden within yourself. The knowledge he spoke of must've been referring to you knowing everything about this universe and the people in it. You stay quiet, and Kakyoin speaks up.
